James was generally friendly and professional. However, one of my items was incorrectly valued. My late mother's pearl necklace, was valued as costume jewellery and the clasp being assessed as base metal. I pointed out that the clasp had four natural rubies- but to no avail, James insisted it was base metal. I withdrew the item from the sale, so, no harm done. If he had listened to me, he could have clearly seen the 585 continental stamp ( 14 carat). Shame- never mind, I swallowed my pride...😄
