Located just off Princes Street at the Shandwick end of Queensferry Road, just around the corner from Six by Nico, Tailors on Queensferry Road offers excellent alteration and dry-cleaning services. I brought in a cushion with some loose stitching where the Velcro fastens. It was a simple fix that could be done by hand or with a machine in under a minute. The tailor kindly repaired it on the spot, refused any payment, and even matched the thread colour perfectly with the background fabric. Their generosity, attention to detail, and quality workmanship are outstanding. Highly recommended.

I was disappointed in some expensive and poor quality repairs. I brought several dresses and skirts with small holes and tears and the repairs were pretty visible and sloppily done. One pocket I asked for my poor quality stitching to be removed and the pocket redone. On pickup I noticed it hadn’t been done at all, and when I pointed this out they immediately sewed up the pocket without removing the original poor stitches - locking those bad visible ones in. Items were returned covered in lots of loose threat ends etc. communication was difficult. I was told a week but when I rang one week later found it very difficult to understand the person on the phone, whose English was quite poor. Despite it being the agreed timeframe of a week my items weren’t ready. I really don’t recommend going here.

I have had Stroke for twenty years and I have a splint which enables me to walk. When I need a pair of trousers they require some tailoring work to fit perfectly. This was done to a very high level. I’m very pleased and my trousers look excellent.

Excellent service, they reupholstered an old nursing chair and brought it back to life, wonderful. It’s like a brand new chair.

Excellent. Bought myself a new suit in the morning, and they were able to tailor it perfectly for me that day. They didn't try to upsell me when I asked whether my trousers also needed a fix - which I really appreciated. Friendly people, reasonably priced and a busy shop so clearly very popular. Will be back!
