Recently visited this hidden gem of a winery and totally exceeded my expectations. The owner, super kind and great human being lives and breathes for this place 24/7, and that's what makes any business so special. He gave us a tour of the winery and explained us how he makes his wines. We tasted wines that I would never imagine would be so good in LA: A sparkling that got nothing to envy on a Spanish Cava, a fortified wine (my fav of all) that got nothing to envy on a Sherry or a Port, a Viognier with a hint of Riesling that turn out to be crazy elegant, a Rosé so delicate and light bodied perfect for summer, a Cinsault that I would never imagine it'd express good in this soil, and the most impressive thing, I got to try a wine made of blueberry and honey from the beehives behind the crops, and I would have never guessed it was made of blueberries if the owner had never told me, it was like a perfume on nose, impressive he could do that with blueberries. If you love wine and you're in the New Orleans area, or even in the state of Louisiana or Mississippi (by LA border), if you got time to make the drive, I strongly recommend you to visit this wonderful winery. You won't regret it.
Easily the best wine in Louisiana. I live nearby and visit the tasting room frequently. I strongly recommend pre-ordering a cheese box. Large selection of mostly dry wines. Beautiful garden. The concerts are next level. Awesome bands from New Orleans and the South. What a treasure to have in Bush!
Had a small group wine tasting here, the tasting room mirrors a california vineyard, all the wines tasted great, and the host was so accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable!!! (would definitely recommend getting a cheese board!) Overall a 10/10 experience for my group!
Cute little winery, but there is room for improvement. We went for a concert during the day and the sun was just brutal. Would love to see them put up a shade structure or tables with umbrellas. During this event they did not do any tastings or flights claiming it was going to be too busy....it wasn't. There weren't many wine options available. They would not give us wine glasses to drink our wine from, which is very strange for a winery. It ruined the vibe for me a bit to drink from a tiny plastic cup. Only people with reservations were allowed to have glasses. So odd. I have never been to a winery that did this. I did enjoy the slightly sparkling red wine in a can, the very good upscale food, and that most of their wines are dry.
Great concert night at Wild Bush Winery. The new owners plan on reviving this neglected winery. Its a beautiful place and ideal for outdoor gatherings and events. The wine wasn't to my taste, but I will use it for cooking and maybe in a salad dressing ;-) One suggestion would be not to allow large special parties ( in this case a 60th Birthday) to set up tall tables and have people standing right in the front 3rd and middle view of the stage. They should be to the side so they can celebrate and everyone else has a chance to see the concert ;-)
