So we used to love to come and have dinner with our family and friends but this past weekend it was just bad, first when we got there all the servers and manager were sitting at the front table by the hostess stand, we believe it does not look good for a restaurant to have there staff sitting down eating in the front, we get seated and food and drinks came out fast, I believe that it was one of the staff members child that is running around playing. That also does not look good at all!!! server did a great job she was a young lady, food I would give a 7/10 drinks were very good a 9/10 we don’t know what happened but a few months ago it’s was definitely not like this!!!!
My son and I came here around 11am on a Monday. We were the only ones there for a hot minute and they sat us at booth near the window. Service overall was quick. We ordered the cheese dip and it was good, but not very thick. The chips were also just okay. I ordered the lunch size portion of the fajita quesadilla but left off the peppers. I think the portion was just right for what I needed. The quesadilla was good and the steak was not dried out. The rice was not the best and arrived room temperature, not as fresh as I would have hoped. The beans were average. My son ordered the cheese quesadilla with rice. They brought it out with fries at first, but quickly brought out rice when I corrected them. The fries were bland and definitely not worth getting with very little seasoning. I got sweet tea with my meal and it was the perfect amount of sweet. I appreciated that they offered a to go cup. Overall, it was your average Mexican food experience. The place is on the smaller side so I would say it probably gets full quick during the busier times.
We visited Xcaret Mexican Grill and Cantina in Winston-Salem on New Year’s Eve, and overall it was a great experience. I ordered a burrito, and while it was flavorful, I was a bit disappointed with the size. It was definitely on the smaller end of a standard burrito, especially compared to the Mission-style (or larger) burritos I’m used to getting at many restaurants. That said, the quality of the food was still good. The real standout was the chorizo queso — absolutely divine. Easily one of the best I’ve had. The margaritas were quite delicious, well-balanced, and perfect for ringing in the new year. The staff were attentive, friendly, and on top of things, especially impressive given how busy New Year’s Eve can be. Service really helped elevate the overall experience. Despite the burrito size being smaller than expected, the great drinks, excellent queso, and solid service make this a place I’d happily return to.
I stopped by here during a 4-hour transfer at the Greyhound station and was lugging multiple bags. The staff were so kind and accommodating with me and my things. I asked beforehand if it was okay to dine in with all my luggage, and they were perfectly fine with it. My server, Danny, was attentive and incredibly sweet! I ordered the glorious ACP for my entrée, it came out quickly and was delicious, and was followed by dessert. The seating is a bit cramped, but despite this, the restaurant has a warm, relaxed feel. One of the hostesses even helped open the door for me as I left with my rolling suitcase and bags, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, such a sweet experience. Will definitely stop by again when I’m in the area!
I recently dined at Xcaret Mexican Restaurant in downtown Winston-Salem and had a pleasant experience overall. The ambience was delightful, offering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that added to the enjoyment of the meal. I ordered the fish fillet topped with shrimp, which was visually appealing. However, the flavor didn't quite meet my expectations. It was decent but lacked the punch I was hoping for. Accompanying my meal was a Cantarito , a refreshing cocktail mix of tequila and grapefruit, among other ingredients. The drink was a highlight and complemented the meal nicely. While the food wasn't extraordinary, the dining experience as a whole was satisfying. I would give Xcaret a four-star review, appreciating the great setting and hoping for a bit more flavor in the dishes next time.
