This place was amazing, first time coming here. me and my partner ordered the tonkatsu ramen and the deluxe shrimp tempura roll. It was so good and the roll was huge! I almost ordered one for myself but I’m glad I didn’t because sharing was enough. Our server was amazing and kind, and great. The atmosphere was chill and comfortable too, we will definitely come here again.
My wife and I fondly remembered Yutaka’s ramen from past visits, so we were excited to return after an afternoon Dbacks game. Unfortunately, this experience left us disappointed. We started with the sesame chicken, which arrived quickly and was a solid appetizer. The chicken was delightfully crispy, coated in a well-balanced sauce. The crispiness was the highlight, though the sauce was fairly standard. Next, we received our ramen: I ordered the tonkotsu, and my wife chose the spicy miso. My tonkotsu was decent, with a flavorful broth that carried some umami and well-prepared chashu. However, the noodles were overly al dente and slightly clumped, which detracted from the dish. The spicy miso ramen was a major letdown. It lacked any miso depth or umami, tasting only of spice. The noodles, like mine, were too firm for my wife’s preference. As someone who’s made miso from scratch, she was particularly disappointed by the absence of rich miso flavor. Since we don’t often eat ramen living in Prescott, we’ll likely explore other options in Phoenix when craving a satisfying bowl in the future.
First visit, a Friday evening, the dining area is very small. Thankfully, we arrived before the early dinner rush. The service was fine. The food we ordered was not your typical ramen or sushi. The spicy miso ramen had chashu(pork belly) but it was overcooked. If you don't like a lot of spice, they will bring it on the side so you can add the spice to your liking. The ramen's addition of corn was an unique twist on your typical ramen. The Vegas roll was pretty good. A couple of us found it to be too cream cheese heavy.
Food is good but the girl who greet us need to work on her customer service. She seated us at the table and the table was wet and my fiance ask for napkins , she gave us a napkins came with her attitude, just gave us and walk away. The waiter was nice and helpful with our orders. The place is very small and you will expect for a wait time sometimes 25 - 30 min depends on how busy they are. We tried the potatoes croquettes, california roll and dynamite roll. Potatoes croquettes was ok. Wasnt that good. But for next time im in town will try to come back and try different.
Oh, where do I begin? This little hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant is an amazing place to eat. I like and love this place. I sneak away to this place at least twice a month sometimes more depending on my schedule and mood. It is small in size but it feels like home and comfortable at the same time. It is quiet and I like that because I don't like competing with the music or television. When it comes to service they are more reserved, to say the least. I don't see smiles often or even laughter among the servers. They sometimes welcome you and other times not. However, they are respectful and do ask if everything is okay and if the food is to our liking. When it comes to drink refills I always have to ask. They don't assume or politely ask if I would like another. That annoys me sometimes but good food overrides that sometimes. That's the reason for my 4 stars for service. The tables are small and they have big plates so be prepared to do tetris with your food. Since it is a small establishment you will have to sit at a table for 2 if there are 2 of you or a table for 1. I do have my favorites and I think the pictures will show that to you. I highly recommend this place. Happy Eating 😊
