As a first time dog owner, I was anxious about where to start with training. When I heard about Zen Dog Training and saw they had a puppy class, I knew it was the right fit for my new puppy and me. Pete has been our instructor and he's been great! He's super patient with answering questions and gives helpful feedback when we show him what we've been practicing. I was definitely overwhelmed having a new puppy, but it was reassuring to know that each week if I worked on the homework with my puppy that we'd improve. My puppy benefited from being able to play with other puppies her age each week. I've also found having access to the Zen Dog Training Puppy Course resources online to be really helpful especially when I needed a reminder of what was covered in class (the videos, comics, and blog posts are easy to understand). I definitely would recommend Zen Dog Training! We have our last class this week and I'm going to miss it when it's over.

We had an incredible experience with Zen Dog Training and our puppy absolutely thrived. Gordon is patient, intuitive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Juniper learned so much through the engaging and interactive assignments. The facility is spotless, well-organized, and always a joy to visit. What really stood out was Gordon’s attention to detail and care in making sure dogs of all sizes had safe, appropriate spaces to socialize — both together and separately. He even made extra accommodations to ensure every pup had the best possible experience. We can’t recommend Zen Dog Training highly enough!

We had an awesome experience with Zen Dog (and Gordon, specifically). Gordon’s classes were a great balance of fun and learning - for pup and pawrents. We noticed our dog learning and growing week by week and loved showing off his new “tricks” in class. Our pup looked forward to it every week! We highly recommend Zen Dog, Gordon, and doing the homework each week (you won’t regret it)!

I have never had a dog before so I knew that I would need help training and socializing our new Boston Terrier puppy. I am so happy that I found and joined the Ivy League Puppy classes at Zen Dog Training. The classes are great for puppy socialization. The puppies are around the same age so they can learn to play together, and Gordon is there to help translate body language and suggest ways to make sure everyone is having fun. This has been useful for puppy meetups outside of class too. My little guy is usually very distracted at class and does not "perform" our homework very well, but I find the real value of the tools that Gordon has given us is making our puppy have good manners at home. Gordon's tools and games for play biting, leash walking, and general commands have given us much better behavior and helped me know what to do!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Gordon and Zen Dog Training! From the moment I reached out, Gordon's professionalism and genuine passion for dogs were immediately evident. His expertise and approach to dog training are simply unparalleled. What sets Gordon apart is his holistic approach to training. He doesn't just focus on obedience but also emphasizes the importance of building a strong bond between the dog and the owner. His methods are positive, kind, and incredibly effective. I participated in the 6-week Ivy League Puppy Class, and it was an incredible experience. Each class started with puppy play, followed by a review of the homework, a brief walk with socialization opportunities, and ended with learning a new command or technique along with the next homework assignment. After each class, Gordon sends out an email with a review of the homework and provides additional tips, tricks, videos, comics, and ebooks throughout the week. All the materials are extremely helpful and effective. One key takeaway is that these courses are designed to teach YOU how to train your dog. If you don't do your homework, read the materials, and practice daily, the responsibility falls on you. If you're looking for trainers who are knowledgeable, compassionate, and results-driven, look no further than Zen Dog Training. Gordon has transformed our lives and our dog's behavior in ways we never thought possible. I highly recommend Zen Dog Training!
