I’ve only been attending this gym for about a month now, but it’s been an excellent experience so far. It’s been years since I last trained and I was welcomed with open arms in both Muay Thai and BJJ. Everyone I’ve met whether they work there or are fellow athletes have been amazing.
Johns Gym has a wonderful atmosphere that makes you want to work and work hard! The people there are extremely friendly and extremely helpful for beginners. The coaches push you to do YOUR best and encourage you to not be afraid to ask questions no matter how minuscule. Everyone works hard and that encourages you to work hard too!
My son has been training at John's Gym for a few months now, and I couldn't be happier with the results. We initially enrolled him to help him with his focus and discipline, but the benefits have extended far beyond that. One of the most surprising and beneficial outcomes of his training has been how boxing has helped his baseball game. The footwork, hand-eye coordination, and rotational power he's developed in boxing class have translated directly to the baseball field. His swing has become more powerful and his throws are more accurate. It's truly amazing to see the crossover benefits. The coaches at John's Gym are fantastic. They are patient, knowledgeable, and create a positive and encouraging environment for all the students. Shout out to Kylie too, who was patient getting us signed up and super communicative. ;) I highly recommend John's Gym to anyone looking for a top-notch mixed martial arts and especially, boxing for kids.
I got a group of moms and daughters together to do a self-defense class this past weekend. Johns Gym did an awesome job! I highly recommend it.
I first moved to the Austin area last year and was looking to get back into the gentle art as I took a long hiatus from training. John's Gym welcomed me with open arms and offer a variety of options for anyone of any stage in training. It is also nice and convenient that you are able to train at any of the three locations without additional fees. I would strongly recommend their gym to anyone looking to pursue or continue training in BJJ as well as their other sports offered!
