Staff and physicians are stellar! Have not met anyone I don’t like, A+++ care. I would take my entire family there. Can’t say enough good things about how competent, kind, friendly, caring, and professional they are. Had a problem come up rather quickly was able to get in with my PA very promptly.
I’ve had appointments with several different dermatologists over many years, but last year I found the dermatologist Medical Group in North County and am never changing again. My skin type and family history of melanoma requires me to conduct an annual derm check. The doctors and staff here are the most thorough group I’ve ever encountered. They review your file before walking in using archived pictures and notes to see if there are any changes. Skin defects are frozen off promptly and new meds instantly updated. If you have any cancerous family history, this is the group you want caring for you.
Dr. Michelle Jackson is amongst the most carrying and engaged medical professionals from whom I have received dermatology treatment. She and DMG compare very favorably with my previous dermatology group and providers. DMG adopts the latest medical technologies, and Dr Jackson has successfully managed long time, problematic issues with less pain and more effectiveness than I have previously experienced. From the first, cheery face at the entry counter, to the MA's and Dr Jackson, I am "almost" glad when it's time for my next routine check up! I highly recommend them and have a long and broad history with dermatologists. Jeff Brand Rancho Santa Fe
I have been visiting Dermatologist Medical Group of North County at the Carmel Valley office for over a year, and I have consistently received outstanding care. From the front office staff to the medical professionals, everyone is professional, courteous, and highly competent in what they do. In particular, I would like to recognize Susan McKim, the medical assistant. She is truly fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and always warm and welcoming. Her charming personality and dedication make every visit a positive experience. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for excellent dermatological care.
Really disappointed overall with this staff and feel genuinely taken advantage of. Seems like all they want is to get you in for as many appointments as possible before trying to actually help you. Saw Dr. Jackson last week and the appointment overall was fine. I was pretty surprised however, at how almost short she had tried to cut the appointment initially. I had explained to her that I had been to an urgent care previously for only the purpose of getting a refill on a steroid ointment that I have been prescribed for my eczema. I explained to her how my eczema is showing differently than it used to so I wasn’t sure if that’s what it was that I was dealing with. I also explained how it hadn’t been seeming to work lately and didn’t want to continue using it if that was the case, so I wanted some fresh advice for my condition. She then told me that she was “pretty sure” it was still my eczema and to continue using the steroid and just about said goodbye before I stopped the conversation basically begging her to take a look as the affected areas of my skin are constantly in pain. She then proceeded to give me the attention that my insurance paid for. She was thorough, gave me good advice, and gave me a series of options I could try. I then explained that I’m desperate and would be willing to try anything, even all of them if needed. She assured me that everything would be ordered/scheduled and I felt great. I had an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks later for what I was convinced was for an allergen test. After waiting all Friday-Monday for a reply from the pharmacist I called the office on Tuesday and the medicine was finally ordered. Fast forward to today, my flare up was the worse it’s been all week and I called the office to request to have my appointment moved to an earlier date. I was informed that the referral was never made and in order to have it done I would need to return a week later to speak with a completely different doctor before I can even schedule the appointment in order to have the test done. I don’t know if this office doesn’t understand that patients are likely actively suffering from their condition or they just think our insurance has unlimited money and they want every cent before providing proper help but I can’t stand being treated like a customer by a doctor. When I walk in, I am a patient and deserve to get the assistance I require. I will not be returning, but I still felt compelled to share my experience.
