I'd select zero stars if I could. Jon SEEMED kind, responsive, and authentic, just as his reviews would suggest. He even offered to help me rectify the issues with my 2022 taxes before officially making me as a client. I told him that because of past experiences it was very important to me that I have an accountant who was responsive and thoroughly explained things to me. Jon promised that would be the case. I was very happy. But then he forgot to email me his "engagement letter" before I dropped off my tax documents. No problem. He sent it over and I politely asked a number of clarifying questions--as I'd told him to expect. Suddenly he wasn't responding to my emails. After reaching out several times to him and his assistant, I received an email telling me I was no longer wanted as a client, and that he was mailing my tax documents back to me--something I'd never voluntarily have someone do! I could have easily come and picked them up if given the choice, as I should have been. My request for elaboration was ignored. Taxes are no joke--doing them wrong could lead to prison time or massive fines. But apparently wanting to make sure you’re crystal clear about Jon's process of completing them is a no-no. I better safely get my tax documents back at least.
We were referred to Jon by a friend because our taxes were going a bit more complex. Jon has always been professional, responsive, easy to work with and very thorough. He also answers questions anytime throughout the year, which is great. We like working with Jon so much that even after moving outside the Pittsburgh area we're still using him as our accountant and will likely keep doing exactly that. He is a great find and we don't hesitate to recommend him!
I have been using Jon for the past couple years for both personal and business taxes. He is fantastic at what he does but he also goes the extra mile and helps me understand everything that's happening in the tax process. I always tell my friends to go to him because he is worth every penny to help you keep the money that you have worked so hard for each year. Jon is also incredibly efficient and very kind.
