I'm a noob when it comes to biking. Just came in to find a fitness bike to try to get some exercise. The rep that helped me was very down to earth with no pressure to accessorize. Answered my questions and was respectable. Had some good conversation while I waited for my bike to get put together. I've done retail for many years in the past and this was the way I would handle my business. I will recommend others in my neighborhood out in Bastrop to visit this place for a new bike or service.
Friendly staff, great service and always down to help if you’re in a pinch. They have serviced my bikes and also helped troubleshoot while working on my own projects. 10/10 recommend bringing your bike here for service if you’re in the area!
This may seem odd since I have never even stepped foot into this shop, but my social media experience was outstanding. I took to FB in search of a particular bicycle. I received a response from a gentleman who works at this shop within 30 minutes. He said he had one. After multiple messages/questions, I sent my daughter over and the bike was exactly as described and priced, and therefore purchased all within 24 hours (more like 12 hours actually). I was impressed with the timely and accurate communication. Thank you Peddler Bike Shop. :)
I’ve been trying to get my son’s bike repaired here for several weeks, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. On my first visit, I was told they had just sold out of the part needed, but that new ones were ordered and would arrive in 2 days. Fair enough. When I came back with the bike, the staff assured me it was a simple repair that could be done quickly once the part came in. Because this is my son’s daily driver to and from school, I left the bike with them, expecting it to be taken care of soon. Days passed, and every time I called, I got a different story. First, the bike hadn’t been touched yet. Then I was told it would be ready the next day. When I called again, I was told by Zach that it still wasn’t ready and that he would call me when it was. His tone made me feel like I was inconveniencing them just by asking for an update. At that point, I’d had enough. I went and picked the bike up—still unrepaired. To make matters worse, the back tire was then completely flat and would not hold air again. My son rides that bike every single day, and the tire had never been that flat before. It felt intentional, and now the bike actually left the shop in worse condition than when it arrived. I’m sure this shop may be great if you’re an avid cyclist looking at high-dollar bikes, but for the average person who just needs a simple repair done in a reasonable timeframe, I can’t recommend them. I’ll end up buying my son a new bike elsewhere—just not from The Peddlar.
First time working with this shop and I’m impressed! Dropped off my road bike yesterday around lunch time to swap out the crankset and stem, got a very reasonable quote over the phone before doing so. While I was there, I also picked up a new set of cleats for a fair price. I got a call a couple hours later letting me know the bike was ready, and when I picked it up the next morning, there was no surprise when paying the bill. Had to come right back for a quick front derailleur adjustment, which they were happy to do on the spot, even with a shop full of customers! Very pleased with my first experience there and will be visiting on them in the near future.
