My Doc Taylor’s Restaurant experience is very interesting.🥞🥓🍳I grow up at the Virgina Beach Oceanfront. I remembered Seaside Amusement Park, The Virginia Beach Dome, and a two story pink motel. That pink motel is now Doc Taylor’s Restaurant. I first noticed Doc Taylor’s restaurant when I was young riding my bike. I saw groups of people on the front porch and lined up on the side of the two story white building. I thought it was some sort of family gathering. To my surprise they were waiting to eat breakfast and maybe order a Bloody Mary in this cottage style restaurant. I was anxious to eat at Doc Taylor’s. I usually order The Left Side, Doctor Tuttle’s French Toast, or Curry’s Irish Corned Beef Hash. They have great lunch menu options. The food and service is excellent. Located on 23rd Street on Pacific Avenue. Parking located in the rear.
The place is a house without any signs. The service was good and the food was delicious. I ordered a short stack of sweet potato pancakes, and a biscuit and grave both were pretty good. I highly recommend 👌. I came back this summer I was surprised because the restaurant was closed Tuesday through Thursday I only visited once this time around.
Great breakfast. This is one if those places you get what you pay for!!! The Biscuits and Gravy was pretty good. Steak was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We felt like we were at a friend's house. I would absolutely recommend this place. Parking is a bit hidden but there is street parking, and if you know VB, every spot is a metered spot.
We came here because our first choice was very busy. We made a GREAT decision by default. This restaurant is located in a building that was once a hotel and later a doctor's office. The exterior hada "Key West" kind of vibe. We arrived just after 9 a.m. on a Friday morning and the dining room was almost full. We paid for parking before we realized they had a private parking lot. Nigel was our server and was amazing! Our party of 6 ordered omelets, pancakes, eggs and hash browns and eggs Benedict. Everyone was thrilled with their food. The coffee as food and hot, and Nigel never let it get empty. I highly recommended Doc Taylor's for a great breakfast!
Finding Doc Taylor’s wasn’t the easiest—tucked away and a little tricky to spot—but once we stumbled across the parking lot and saw the “Parking for Doc Taylor's” we found our way. Once we stepped inside, it was worth it. Our server, Heidi, was excellent—friendly, full of menu knowledge, attentive, and kept things moving with a smile. The coffee came out dark and strong (exactly how it should be), and the $3.50 breakfast cocktails are an absolute steal. The Screwdriver was a great way to start a day of sightseeing. I went with the biscuits & gravy. The portion was huge. Heidi shared the gravy isn't just homemade, it's made fresh to order. It was thick enough to stick to the fork, but not firm or clumpy. I would’ve loved just a bit more seasoning. A side of bacon sealed the deal—crispy, salty perfection. The eggs Benedict were ooey gooey perfection, as well! The vibe is cozy, with a local, off-the-beaten-path feel. Doc Taylor’s is the kind of place you’re glad you tracked down.
