Couldn’t recommend Albert from Strike1 fishing charters high enough. He operates out of west beach, wirrina cove and victor harbour depending on what time of year and target species. His step on step off charter is one you’ll never forget, he will take you to some of the best areas around and will always work hard to put smiles on your face along with filling the freezers back home. I’ve been out with Albert more times than I can think and it’s always the most amazing experience, Whether you’re fishing inshore for whiting or offshore for tuna. I’ll always be back and it will never disappoint.
There is pros and cons to every review so I'll list what was great what was bad and all in-between Starting with the pros. Excellent knowledge on fish types weather conditions. Excellent for families great with younger children. His equipment, bait, boat is great and in solid condition. Cheap compared to other charters that shaft you with expensive per person rates. Straight to the point telling you the information people want to know like are you guranteed a catch of course not but we had a great experience catching plenty of fish from King george whiting, red mullet, rock cod, leather jackets, squid and more. Will help kids so the adults can enjoy fishing he will bait the hooks help them cast and reel in. Good for a laugh and will keep you entertained with conversations. Cons Unfortunately feels like time goes to quickly. Can be hard to get a booking as he books out quickly.
Me and my family were over from the uk and fancied some fishing. I tried a couple of places but they were fully booked. Then we tried Albert from strike 1 and he said he currently has a group he waiting to have confirmation from. He asked if he could get back to me within half hour. He then came back and said that we are good to go. The trip was for 5 people, one of which was my 12 year old son. A couple of us had fished before and for the newbies Albert was extremely helpful, funny, and informative. The boat was extremely clean, well equipped and set up for a great day. Albert took us to a few locations and we caught squid, gar, leather jackets, red mullet, blue swimming crab. The fish were a little sparse, but Albert kept up morale and kept it fun. Over all I would highly recommend this company and I would 100% use them again. Oh and lastly, DONT be the guy that takes a bunch of bananas on the boat!! Thank you again Albert!
A massive shout out to Albert for his persistence to getting my boys a variety of species on our charter. My boys caught Southern Calamari, garfish, King George Whiting and Red Mullet. Most other charters you'd be lucky to catch a species let alone this amazing variety. Looking forward to jumping on again sooner than later especially when the SA government lifts this snapper ban that is absolutely killing the Fishing Charter businesses here in SA.
Albert is very nice, knowledgeable and professional guy. My wife and I have had a happy day with Strike 1 fishing trip. We caught lots of calamari, garfish and other fish. Thank you Albert!
