Sept 2023, I had JC Construction do a complete remodel in my bathroom. (The bathroom was last done in 2004). I did not do a review at that time, because I did have a couple small issues. The owner would come by and check on his guys that were working, and would make himself comfortable in my livingroom rocker recliner, and be on his phone sometimes 30 minutes to a hour plus. ( I did not say anything at that time because I try to be respectful. But truthfully, by his actions, I think it was disrespectful). But I left it alone. My other issue at that time, I was told that the order had to be changed and had "to repair the sub floor and add plywood" and it would cost an extra $500.00, we did agree on $250.00 which I paid cash. However, I was later told that the plywood should have been included in the orginial estimate because there was No dry rot or anything. I really didn't know because I know nothing about building. I loved the way my bathroom looked when they completed it. My bathroom was beautiful. I was excited and very happy. I was also just glad to have it done and to have my home back. A couple days later after the work had been completed I found that when they cut the 2 x 4 out for the shampoo box they had actually had cut two small places through the drywall into the diningroom part of my kitchen which is on the other side of the bathroom. Within the year in a couple places between the soaking tub and the tiled shower wall where the grout is appx 3/4 to 1 inch, each came out and the grout need repair. The handheld shower fixture stopped working. And Now I have a leak in my bathroom ceiling fan that was installed during the remodel. I don't know if they just installed it and did not seal it correctly or completely when they put the vent on the roof. Or what? But I have water linking out of the fan on to my floor. (I have put a bucket there until i can get someone to look at it tomorrow). I know we have gotten a lot of rain. the last couple days, but should this be leaking? Because of the rain, I don't believe so. If a job is done right. I wonder what kind of expense, it's going to cost me to fix this too. I will be honest. I love my bathroom it is beautiful. I take care of it, I wipe down the walls in the shower every morning etc. But when you pay $15,000 you would hope that you don't have these problems in only 2 years. Lesson learned.
We chose JC as our general contractor for a full kitchen renovation, after getting bids from 6 GCs/vendors. The price was very competitive and even included a few thoughtful amenities we didn’t originally consider. Nick and his team from JC did a fantastic job with our kitchen and created exactly what we wanted, finishing the entire job well before the estimated completion date. Each phase was handled quickly and professionally with great communication and no surprises. The design process was excellent and very helpful to see our options and get advice on what would work best with our space (CJ, our designer, was fantastic to work with). They made sure they had all materials on hand before starting demo, minimizing our kitchen downtime. Demo was fast, and the following material installation happened in quick succession. Teams coming to the house were friendly, timely and professional. Any questions or changes needed were handled swiftly and easily over a quick call with Nick, and then put in play immediately. Overall- we are thrilled with our new kitchen, and we would 100% use JC again in the future for any renovation needs. Highly recommended.
My husband and I have wanted to remodel our kitchen for the longest time, considering we’ve been in our home for a bit over 25 years. We were a bit uncertain about having to shut down the kitchen for several weeks and about the remodel as a whole. But when we decided to talk with JC Construction & Remodeling, Nick put us at ease with his welcoming, calm, professional manner. His crew are professional, detail oriented, and delivered the job within 4 weeks as promised. Nick and the crew did an excellent job starting with designing the project, detailing, craftsmanship, and completing on time. The crew’s professionalism and high level of detail was shown in action as they worked each day. It’s clear they deeply care about the work they do. We love our new kitchen and we highly recommend JC Construction & Remodeling for job well done.
Nick and the JC Construction team were everything we could have asked for in a general contractor. This was our first large-scale remodel project and we were unsure about the proper approach. I received several quotes from local general contracting companies. All other companies were subpar in character and vision. Our first meeting with Nick showed his enthusiasm and love for his work. I asked a simple question at the end of each meeting with the companies I had met with. “Do you enjoy your work?” Nick was the only contractor who responded with positivity, passion, and eagerness. Nick’s fervor for his craft was represented in his design, ideas, and vision for our project. We had a rough plan for our home remodel which included the replacement of our floors, entire kitchen, walk-in pantry, and overhead electrical. Throughout the process and planning, my wife and I grew very accustomed to Nicks catch phrase “No problem, we can do it.” Nick and his crew were cooperative, high energy, and motivated throughout the entirety of the remodeling project. Our finished project has been such a joy for my friends and family. We are proud to show the work JC Construction is responsible for. My wife and I can be considered small-scale perfectionists. From small scratches to complete changes in the remodel, Nick continued to accommodate and stayed completely flexible to our plans. Nick and his team stayed completely motivated and positive despite any of our requests to change, add, and modify work they had already completed. If you are considering any home remodel or construction project, you won’t regret giving JC Construction a chance to showcase its talents for making your home dream come true. It should be noted, I had received no less than five quotes from other companies, and JC Construction provided the most competitive quote. I know Nick and the JC Construction team applied their craftsmanship and care to our home project which produced a quality and beautiful product in the end.
Nick and his crew finished the renovation on my home after my previous contractor abandoned the job. The guys were friendly, showed up on time and cleaned up after finishing the day's project. Nick's bid for the entire project was $50k lower than the previous contractor, and there was no difficulty in getting almost exactly what I wanted. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating was because attention to finishing detail was lacking and an error was made on the cabinet for the microwave was made, too small. Overall satisfied with the work as my home is now much more accessible for me when using my wheelchair.
