I had found this place on a Google search when looking for a local spot in Jersey City to get hair and makeup done for my engagement photos. It's been over a decade since I've gotten my hair and makeup professionally done so I was a bit nervous but Lissa quickly assured me that I was in great hands. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel so comfortable and let me know her process every step of the way. She took my inspiration photos and went above and beyond. My makeup held all day even after running around in pouring rain! But what really made the experience so special was even though they were technically closed for makeup classes that day, she still honored my appointment and made sure I was taken care of with food and water/coffee, etc. Lissa has a passion for building people up and sharing her passion for beauty services and it really shows. I would absolutely go back here in a heartbeat for any professional hair and makeup needs and highly recommend Lissa and her studio to anyone looking to do the same.
For the most part the staff was professional and pleasant but they had no respect for my time. I never received an apology. I was very disappointed in my experience. I had a 12:30 appt. I was called to arrive early, I was already on the way. I arrived at 11:45 but Due to scheduling and miscommunication with other clients I didn’t sit in the chair until 2p. I was out in 1 hour, which seemed rush and unlike past makeup sessions at other locations. (For the record, I had an earlier appointment time.) They should have honored that I had an earlier appointment time than the other client. The makeup artist I had was very heavy handed and the makeup looked caked on. She kept forgetting that I said I don’t like glitter although she did catch herself before applying. It didn’t look blended well. The staff kept saying “it didn’t take that long” as if it was going to make me feel any better after waiting 2 hours. I had other things to do. Although the other clients and I were going to the same event, I scheduled a specific time for my specific reasons and that was not respected. After I waited the 2 hours, one artist started packing up. I thought the first one done would take me, but no. Then the 2nd artist finished and I had to wait some more. The staff stopped to eat lunch. Meanwhile I’m still waiting. They need to eat, I get it, but I felt even less regard for my time. Onto hygiene, I did not see proper cleaning of tools. She applied setting powder from the original container onto my face many times. Mascara the same. I didn’t see any disposable spoolies as I’ve seen with other artists. How many other people was this done to? I couldn’t wait to wash my face at the end of the night! Although the staff was nice overall, I don’t think I’ll try them again. If you go, just be vocal about your questions, likes and dislikes.
It was my first time at Diva glam and I have one word to say “LOVED” I had the best experience with Lissa, she was so sweet, very talented and she gave 100% for my hair and makeup! I would 100% recommend to go to the salon for your occasions! Thank you so much diva glam! And very big thank you to Lissa❤️ Hope to come in soon again

My experience at Divas Glam was exceptional. The studio is gorgeous and clean. Lissa is a true professional who takes their craft seriously. She looked at my pictures and worked on creating a custom look. Lissa is an artist, this look was not easy. I love the products that Lissa used. My makeup was flawless the entire event. When I took off my makeup my skin looked great. All her brushes were clean and she used a brand new mascara wand. I loved my experience at Divas Glam and I'm excited to go back for my next event.
