If you’re a woman wanting to use the female changing room don’t bother. There are male workers in there constantly. It’s excused with the sign that says ‘male worker in changing room’ however you can never feel comfortable because you could be already undressed when they come in to actually get the sign. It’s a huge gym in the city centre it’s really not hard to just hire a female staff member. Male workers in female spaces shouldn’t be normalised
I have trained with my PT Alex a few times at this fantastic gym. Alex is honestly amazing and nothing is ever to much trouble. She definitely goes above and beyond to make sure your health and fitness improve. I couldn't recommend Alex enough she is a super star ✨️
I went to this gym for a year, but I had to cancel my membership. There is no air circulation system in the ground floor cardio area (no air conditioning, and no fan). In the past year, I have been sick more times than in a decade (I wish this was an exageration): Covid's, flu's and stomach issues. I know it's this gym, because I am the healthiest I have ever been and no reason to be sick. Since I left the gym at end of August, I have not been ill once (at this gym it was every few weeks). I used to attend the gym for 30-45mins, in the last few months of my membership, I went for 10mins (maybe 15), I couldn't take the stale air and smell of sweat, made me feel dizzy and nauseous. I think it's a great gym otherwise, and I was sad to leave. But my health really suffered. Imagine getting on a packed plane with no air vents, and everybody was exercising, would you do it?... there's no difference really. It should a law for appropriate air conditioning in gyms.
This is what the gym changing rooms looked like at 8AM this morning upon OPENING. Looks like your entire team missed the opportunity to clean upon closing last night and also missed their opportunity to clean when opening this morning. Clearly ZERO accountability and happy to take paying customers money with absolutely no regard for hygiene or safety. The sauna was also full of discarded plastic bottles, tissue, product labels. Quite funny watching everyone’s horrified reaction as they walked into the shower area this morning. Not very funny for the people in charge. I can see why you decorated the showers with dark grey tiles and black grout (I hope anyway) a bit of bleach and an evening clean down would show paying customers you actually care about their wellbeing.
2024 REFURB COMPLETE! This gym has been here for a while, but closed temporarily to have a refurbishment. I'm happy to report that the gym has had a modern refresh, with new equipment and décor. The most surprising thing is the new layout. The cardio area is now downstairs (previously on the 2nd floor) and it seems a lot more spacious and easier to navigate. The class studios one the first floor have had a facelift too. I particularly like the new Spinning Studio with the new Spinning bikes. The weights area is now on the 2nd floor and it's great because there's lots of new machines, new weights, a weightlifting area and it keeps the bodybuilder types upstairs, just in case you get intimidated by that sort of thing. Saunas and nice changing rooms come with the price too. Overall, if you're looking for an excellent City Centre gym in Liverpool, this one comes recommended!
