⭐ 1 Star – Poor Diagnosis, Unreliable Service I have a Bryant two stage gas furnace with a variable-speed blower that began shutting down after 5–10 minutes of operation and displaying Code 13 (1 short flash, 3 long flashes). Two technicians were sent: Robert Nicolay arrived late and did not follow manufacturer recommended troubleshooting procedures. Despite the lack of proper diagnostics, he recommended replacing the pressure switch and quoted $849, a diagnosis I had no confidence in. Fernando Palomo, the second technician, was professional and knowledgeable. Within 20 minutes, he cleaned the unit, cleared Code 13, and demonstrated that the initial diagnosis was incorrect. Unfortunately, shortly after his departure, Code 13 returned. After researching the issue myself (including manufacturer guidance and independent resources), I replaced a faulty limit switch with an original OEM part for $34, which fully resolved the problem. This confirmed that the earlier recommendations were incorrect and unnecessary. Major issues with this experience: 1.Both technicians arrived late 2.Unreliable appointment windows 3.Initial diagnosis was incorrect and could have led to over $1,000 in unnecessary repairs 4.The problem was ultimately solved through my own research, not the service process While Fernando deserves individual credit for professionalism, the overall experience—misdiagnosis, delays, and lack of accurate troubleshooting has significantly damaged my trust in this company. I wish there were an option to leave zero stars.
Our heat stopped working on the coldest day of the season with a huge storm on the way. Douglas Fosu was absolutely fantastic. He provided exemplary customer service and was very personable. He worked efficiently and clearly was very knowledgeable. Thanks Michael & Sons for getting him out here same-day.
1/15/26 Edit: Scott reached out to me from Michael and Sons to discuss pricing. I was told the incorrect permit pricing was applied. Scott corrected this and generously applied a coupon as a sign of good faith. After this interaction and remediation I am satisfied with the overall price and think it’s in line with quality work in this area. Updated to 5 stars for the quick turn around and customer service.
