My favorite gift shop around. Love the ever-changing selections (especially the earrings!!) and how sweet and helpful the staff are. You can tell this a shop created with so much love and attention to detail.
The BEST gift shop, featuring small businesses who have the cutest stuff! All of the employees are wonderful, and they do everything they can to support artists in their community and beyond.
I always have a pleasant experience shopping here. The service was genuinely friendly and helpful without feeling pushy, which made browsing really enjoyable. I especially appreciate the wide variety of thoughtful options. Modern Mouse truly has something for every loved one in any occasion. Gift shopping here feels easy and stress free because everything is curated with personality. I keep coming back here whenever I need a meaningful gift. Bonus points for it being a small business.
The variety of items offered helps me shop for several different people and holidays. It’s a true gem in Alameda that should be supported. I’ve been consistently coming back because of the reliability and consistency I’ve experienced at Modern Mouse.
I love the store and shop there often. My only beef with them is how challenging it is to shop for the jewelry there. I completely understand concerns around damage or theft, especially with how delicate some of the items are (as well as small), but I feel like they should place it closer to the registers then. Having a sales person required to open each case with a separate key and tied up the entire time you are considering - since shoppers are not able to touch anything - is a huge deterrent. I probably would’ve spent three times as much on jewelry if it hadn’t been such a friction-filled process. That said, I will always prioritize shopping from local artisans and will continue to frequent the shop. Will probably just get jewelry elsewhere.
