This place needs more stars, my family of 7 went to try this place out all the way from Leeds and it didn’t disappoint. The freshest seafood and sushi I have ever had in the North. The booking system was faulty and so they were not ready to have such big orders from us, but they managed gracefully and the chef even came out to apologise for how slow the food was coming out - though this was not an issue for us as we enjoyed catching up. Once the booking system is up and running we would love to get one of their private rooms next time (traditional Japanese rooms) for a small group. They also had Kimono’s 👘 which was great to take pictures with in the beautiful setting

Halal Japanese food. The rice for the sushi was good. Could even be koshihikari. Personally the broth for the ramen needs some improving but the tare was good. Okonomiyaki is available. Sadly, not in my favourite Hiroshima style (Motte Koi!).

First time at Zen Sushiya for a birthday meal and we were in the private huts, they were amazing and felt intimate and closed off from the rest of the restaurant. Our server Connie was amazing and accommodating, all of our food was delicious and came out in good time. Also all the other staff members were lovely and polite. They also provided a complimentary dessert and it was all in all 10/10 will definitely be coming back.

Zen Sushiya is truly a hidden gem in Manchester. I went in with high expectations, and somehow it still managed to exceed every single one. The sushi was absolutely amazing—fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. I also tried the ramen, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had. Rich broth, perfect noodles… I’m still thinking about it. The staff were amazing from start to finish, warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Amanda, the head chef, was absolutely incredible—her skill and commitment to quality really shine through in every dish. One of the highlights of my visit was getting the chance to make my own matcha. I’ve tried matcha many times before and never really liked it, but this experience completely changed my mind. Learning how to make it properly—and tasting the difference—made me actually enjoy matcha for the first time. Overall, Zen Sushiya delivered an unforgettable dining experience. I can’t recommend it enough.

The sushi and starters are incredible! The food was delivered so quickly and it was fresh and delicious! However do not get the fries, it is not specified anywhere that the ‘cream cheese’ is just a sweet sugary powder and when we asked to change the chef refused but did try to offer other condiments to make it better. Overall the sushi is incredible.
