Here is review from someone who has visited this place for 15 years or so. Someone wrote a review about the quality and quantity. That is essential true. The food although still good, has decline and the quantity of meat is smaller. I live in NY and visited this place in June, I believe the tacos were $2.99 each, mind you I remember the tacos were .99 cents. I saw a pic where the tacos were $2.19 about 3 years ago. Today, I visited and noticed the price of the tacos was not listed on the panels, when I saw my receipt, $3.09. I believe the min wage in TX is $7.25? Unless you make more you will have to work at least half an hour to eat a taco here. That’s is a perspective to consider the price increase I have seen over the years for the tacos that have diminish in quantity and quality. Visit and make your own assessment about the food. Consider that just about every gas station sells tacos to satisfy different palates.
I ordered the taco plate and tamales with guacamole. However, it came with no tamales, and the guacamole was not included with the tacos. Tacos were delicious. The lady at the store couldn't speak much English and told me to call the next day. But I was at a hotel. I will have to make another trip up there. Really wanted to taste those tamales.
This Taco Stop has been a go to of mine for 20 years now... I don't know if it's a nostalgia issue or not but lately the food doesn't seem as great as it once was. I can't hold the fact the prices have more than doubled against them because inflation happens. But unless you visit at lunch hours the place feels like a cafeteria line and tastes a little drier too. Its still better than the other places down the street and the sauce is on point. Since it's located in a gas station you can choose from a great variety of drinks to pair up with the food. Just in case it's necessary... this is not a sit down restaurant. There are two or three tables but don't count on being able to sit and eat there.
I stopped by 24/7 Tacos in Garland and was seriously impressed! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. It felt more like visiting a friend's kitchen than a typical taco spot. The food came out fast, fresh, and full of flavor. I tried the street tacos and they hit the spot. What really stood out was how reasonably priced everything was. Great portions for the price, which is getting harder to find these days. Whether you're craving something late at night or just want a good meal with good people, this place is a gem. I'll definitely be back!
Best al pastor tacos I can remember. First time here but we'll definitely be back. Al pastor was great, also loved the red and green salsas as well as the sauteed jalapenos and onions. Note you need to hand your receipt to the restaurant side or they don't know you've ordered.
