A Better Tree Service

Alas, I don't have before and after pics of my two camphor trees that the team at ABTS took care of for me, this morning. These folks were stellar--from the booking of the estimate to the communications regarding the appointment and then the team of arborists themselves. Brodeur Landscapes reccomended them to me and they, as always, steered us well. Let's be clear: tree work is specialized, skilled labor that has a degree of danger. There are chainsaws on sticks, helmets, all sorts of nonsense. The kind of service offered costs money. But that money is nothing compared to 1. Not paying for back surgery for my partner who could "just get up there and take care of it..." and 2. The peace of mind knowning one of the upper limbs wasn't going to fall down on one of the many roving kindergarteners in my neighborhood (we're also adjacent to a school.) Hiring ABTS is not going to be cheap, but the estimates are free and as the arborist today reminded me, sometimes they come out and are able to tell you they don't need to do anything--ergo, saving YOU money. The multi-person team who all arrived promptly, who called first, who follow-up emailed and worked within the estimate is totally worth it.

Jeff came by our home last week to look at two trees we have - a Magnolia and a Deodar Cedar. He took the time to carefully assess each tree - from a 360 degree perspective - and recommend how to care for them. These trees add value to our lot and Jeff added value with his experience, insight, and his wit! Thanks Jeff - much appreciated.

We had a huge Oak tree limb fall on our house on a Saturday night. Our neighbor, who has used A Better Tree Service many times for all his oak trees, called Jeff and told him about the situation. Jeff came out at 10pm to assess the situation and then had his crew out the next morning to start the cleanup. His crew was very professional and did a great job. I’m very happy with the whole experience with them and would highly recommend them.

Had a VERY good experience with them. Started with an in-person visit from an arborist to evaluate the six trees that needed work (5 needed a trim, 1 needed removal). It was a thoughtful review followed by an itemized estimate. Had a bit of trouble with nailing down a day to do the work, but when they arrived, the team was knowledgeable, professional, personable and kept safety as a priority as they went up our mature fan palm tree. They also did a great job cleaning up afterwards so the finished look was clean and didn’t require me to spend a day in the yard. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Service! In 2018 one of the liquid amber trees in our yard didn't come back to life in the spring.We'd been talking about clearing the cut brush and doing a little trimming for a while, but when that tree died we knew we would have to have a professional deal with the problems in the yard at some point. Fast forward to this spring. One windy night a branch as big around as my thigh fell strait down. We knew that was our last warning, so I opened up Google Maps and searched for tree service. I selected A Better Tree Service and one other to contact - the other service never even tried. I was quickly contacted and an arborist came by the next day. He did a thorough evaluation and gave me a quote that sounded very reasonable. We soon scheduled a day for the A Better Tree Service's team to come out. I'm not sure how many of them there were, perhaps eight. They cut down four trees, cut back a branch that was growing over our neighbor's fence, removed the piles of brush in the yard, and chipped it all up into mulch (which we are using all over the place!). And all the while, the guys had fun. They never neglected their jobs, but they laughed and teased together. I also appreciated that when one of the more experienced guys would point out some lesson about tree health to a junior guy they let me run over and "learn too!" Over all a fantastic service. I would recommend them to anyone. Update, August 2019: Once all the above work was done, we were able to see other things that needed care. I won't detail the work this time. Suffice to say they did the work quickly and safely. Also, they made our large Liquid Amber safer to be around and probably extended its life. So you can see I've lived my own advice! Again, I recommend highly.
