Rented a U-haul from this location and the staff were not ready with the keys for the vehicle and we had to wait an hour before the employee showed up with the keys. Do not rent from this place and use an official U-haul location!

While the shop did eventually get my car running again, the overall experience was very frustrating and could have been handled much better. On October 30, my car died in the middle of the road after heavy rain. I was told the issue was flood-related and that the car needed an ECU/computer replacement. Initially, things seemed promising — the mechanic came to the car and I wasn’t asked to tow it right away. Communication quickly became a problem. Responses were very slow, and I rarely received updates unless I followed up multiple times. I was eventually told to find and purchase the ECU myself, which required me to spend a lot of time researching something I had no experience with. I confirmed that if I bought a computer with matching part numbers, it would not need programming, since the shop doesn’t do programming in-house. After installation, however, I was told it did need programming after all, and I was referred to a programmer they know. The total cost ended up being $575 total. Another major issue was parking. The shop has only few spots, and before Thanksgiving I was told to pick up the key because the shop would be closed for 9 days and I would need to move the car myself to avoid street-cleaning tickets — even though the car was completely dead. As a single female with no way to move a dead vehicle, I found this request unreasonable. After I pushed back, they did move it themselves, but it shouldn’t have been asked. If the work had been completed before the long Thanksgiving break, much of this delay could have been avoided. When I finally got the car back, it had a check engine light on that was not there when I brought the car. I tried multiple times to follow up but received no response. Since I was planning to sell the car and couldn’t wait any longer, I ended up selling it for about $1,000 less because of the warning light. The car was also returned with the seat visibly dirty after the computer work, and the stains could not be removed. I’m sharing this not to be aggressive, but because there’s clear room for improvement, especially with communication, transparency, and customer care. I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences.

I was here back in july and had a ton of back and forth in regards to my flat tire - There were two tires that had issues - one was flat and one was bulging, they first fixed the flat but no the bulge, then replaced the wrong tire. I was back and forth for about a week for this before I actually had the correct two new tires on my vehichle. 5 months later, I've now taken my car into the dealership because of a different issue (A&M did not answer the phone for me to bring my car back). The dealer is now saying that i need two new tires (the same ones that were replaced in july). This leads me to believe i was scammed and was sold used tires as I drive very little so there is no way that I would have worn down the tread of these tires in 6 months.

If you’re checking reviews from U-Haul, DO NOT USE THIS PLACE AS YOUR PICKUP, you’ll be wasting your time and have to get a truck somewhere else

Best mechanic in Jersey City. Also a fraction of the cost of other places
