Authentic Italian food, prepared and served by Italians🇮🇹. This place had a huge thumbs up from us. My husband (who is Calabrese) says it reminds him of his mamma and Nonna's cooking. Cannot fault a single dish! Highly recommend. Easily our favourite Italian place for pasta and sweet Italian treats in Cardiff. We have been several times, taken family and friends here, and even recently ordered a birthday cake (millefoglie) through them. If you visit, highly recommend trying something from the specials board.

We visited A Pint of Salt on Tuesday with my team of colleagues and it was truly a remarkable experience. The location is comfortable and the atmosphere immediately gives a warm, welcoming feeling. The staff greeted us in a friendly and professional manner, Gaetano, Michele and Giovanni dedicating time and attention to us throughout the meal. The service was impeccable, with just the right level of interaction and entertainment when appropriate. The food was excellent: freshly made pasta of outstanding quality, with authentic flavors that truly reflect Italian cuisine. The homemade, freshly baked bread was also a highlight absolutely delicious. A highly recommended experience that we will definitely repeat.

Pin of Salt was fully intent on us getting the best Italian food/ drink/ conversation possible! The food was incredible and the staff were so polite and knowledgeable. The owner was also interesting and friendly! Booked a table for February already! Thanks so much guys!

A Pin of Salt on City Road was a real treat. The fresh homemade pasta stood out straight away and the ravioli carbonara was spot on. The pizza was light and full of flavour, and even the children’s bolognaise felt properly made. The highlight was the ribeye which my wife called the best she has ever had. We finished with lovely homemade desserts that tasted like something from a small place in southern Italy. We left already looking forward to going back. Best Authentic Italian Restaurant in Cardiff.

Found this little gem by good luck. From the moment we walked in, until we left was a positive experience and we were made to feel special. A concise but interesting menu with lovely specials. Everything we ate here was good, with the homemade quality of the food standing out. A stand out in all my recent dining experiences.
