This guy is a pro, also very honest and knowledgeable. He easily could have up charged me due to what turned out to be a quite difficult project, but honored his original quote. Highly recommend him to anyone!
David helped me tremendously. I have a long out of warranty malfunctioning GoldenEar Triton 2+. Before bringing in the speaker for repair, David convinced me to contact GoldenEar. GoldenEar offered to fix my issue at no cost. Without David’s advice, which ultimately lost him a little business, I would have spent hundreds on this speaker repair. A-Z is certainly an honest customer comes first shop. I highly recommend them.
David is extremely knowledgeable and completed rebuild of a pair Paradigm Seismic 10 subwoofers on time and at quoted cost (very reasonable). Both Plate Amps/power supplies, both spiders and a voice coil repair. I have been running them now for about a month and both are performing flawlessly! If you’re invested in your equipment and want your stuff to perform like new-David is the guy! Thank you David!
Great 👍 guy and does great work & hes critical on his work. He will be sure to give you the best work and products for your repair. The repair took a little longer than expected but it was to get the best outcome for the repair, so who can complain about that when it's something for you that you're paying for on a specialty repair. I highly recommend doing business here 👌 💯
Summary: There is no A-Z subwoofer&Amplifier repair store in the area. You drop off/pickup your item in the parking lot outside of gated condo complex where David lives. David will not provide written invoice and written estimate. A-Z Subwoofer&Amplifier has no CA business license and San Diego Business Tax Certificate. Full Story: I drove to A-Z repair address, did not see A-Z subwoofer repair store in the area. I called David and he asked to meet him at the 7-Eleven parking lot. It is about 200-300ft from his gated condo complex. I described the problem of my Crown CTS 8200 Amp. He said "give him 5 days" and took my Amp to his place without providing any paper work. It was an unease. It was my first time having service without written invoice and occurred in the parking lot but online review A-Z appears to be a legit audio repair business. Week later David said part ordered from Canada and stuck at US custom. 2nd week David said part was still stuck at US custom. 3nd week part still not cleared by US custom and He does not know when it will arrive. I decided to take it back. Again met David in the parking lot outside of the condo complex. I took Amp home. I fell things moving inside the box. I removed top cover and sure enough there was a back part, not sure but looks like a heat sink, has been cut from the main board (See picture). You can see it was not a clean cut and there were four wires left disconnect. I texted him the picture and called him. He said that was a bad part need to be replaced. He needs to desolder and order the part. I told him the Amp needs to be back in its original condition. He said he is not going to desolder and solder. You can see how bad the black part connectors are. I just don't know what level of damage has been done to the main board while his shop tried to remove that black part. I believe by law the repair shop has to restore the condition of the unit if the repair is not approved Crown told me that black part is not a separate part, it has no part number, can not order separately. it is part of the main board. I have strong suspicion so I contacted CA Dept of Consumer Affairs and San Diego City. Here what I learn. Electronic repair business license is required and invoice describing the work is required. Initial written estimate for the cost of repair is required. Business License - Business Tax Certificate is required for all entities doing business in San Diego. A-z subwoofer&Amplifier repair CA business license not found. A-z subwoofer&Amplifier repair San Diego Business Tax Certificate not found. I encourage you to contact CA Consumer Affairs and San Diego city if you have any doublt. Response: Your audio repair business activity at the advertised location is required San Diego Tax Certificate and you are required to provide receipts regardless customer request or not. I will let San Diego city and CA dept do their job.
