Absolutely the worst place ever. They don't return phone calls, told us yes yes yes come pick up Saturday. We show up and they are closed. No table or chairs for an event that starts in 5 hours.
I rented 30x30 and 20x20 white tents with water barrels, 108 white padded chairs, and 11 60-in round tables. Randall made sure everything was delivered and set up well before the start of my party and Imelda gave me a reasonable price. Overall I was very happy with their products and services. Will definitely use again!
Terrible service. The shop itself is a mess, everything is unorganized, old, rusty and dirty. The lady that owns the place is all over the place and unorganized, had stacks of papers everywhere that were bookings that she was still working on and kept saying how busy they were. She wrote our rental details and inquiries on a piece of paper, had no real system, I honestly don’t know how they’re running this business. She told us she’d send us a text in a couple days, and nothing. We tried to call, they never answer, they don’t respond to emails. She ended up ghosting us which was definitely a blessing and a dodged bullet. Super unprofessional and horrible service. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.
I was really hoping I would not have to do a review on this company. Although, after receiving a disappointing text message from them WHILE ON MY HONEYMOON, I decided this needs to be public for those who are considering this place. We found this place as a local owned type family business which I fully am supportive of. I’d rather pay places like this vs big chain companies. When we first went in back in February, it felt very unwelcoming from the start. We weren’t greeted by anyone. A simple Hello goes a long way in any business. After some time they person sat us down and we went over an estimate on what we would be looking at for an August wedding as far as pricing. As any person should do, we explored other options to compare pricing, quality and availability. I had other companies reach out to me with estimates close to what we were presented by Alamo City. They also followed up and called me in the months leading up to my August Wedding. Not one phone call from Alamo. Although, I know some people don’t like being called for follow ups but looking back, it was nice to have someone care about earning business. I had my Fiancé and her Maid of honor secure over $2700 of rentals for our wedding after I decided I still wanted to support a family business. There was a WRITTEN contract and a copy given to my fiancé. No problems here. About 10 days prior to my wedding we decided we wanted to proceed with TENTS. After calling the company and the VM box always being full we decided to try to go in and secure in person. The Business hours online do not match up to google maps or google itself. Their hours and days open are an extremely small range. Going in person was extremely difficult with work, planning and preparing for this wedding. I finally was able to reach them and spoke to the same person that secured our first order with a WRITTEN contract. I asked if we could add a 60x40 AND a 20x20 tent to our order to shade 185 guests. After the person had confirmed availability of both I told her we would like to proceed and even offered to go in and sign a WRITTEN contract. I was told I did not need to. Upon delivery a family member was at the place of the event to help instruct setup. She told me the tent they brought was a 50x30. NOT THE TENT(S) I was quoted or even asked for. After communicating that to the delivery personal, I was told he was extremely rude and disrespectful. Let’s have a conversation and figure it out vs calling myself a liar or treating my family poorly at minimum. He was even having a hard time calling the owner about the confusion which should say something. After some time I was presented with being called a liar and I needed to use it or pay a cancellation fee. A cancellation fee of nearly 40%. Here’s my concern, Why would I need to pay a cancellation fee for an item(s) I never received? I asked for a 60x40 AND a 20x20 to accommodate my guests. All I wanted is to be brought the correct items and pay as promised. I feel a person should not be charged a cancellation fee since the Item they are “Cancelling” is not even available to cancel? They did not even get the full tent out of the trailer. After the tables and chairs were dropped off and NOT set up, they completed the dance floor in a location (I had picked). The next day when dropping off the linen, I asked very considerately and kindly even though I was furious how my family was treated and my integrity being questioned, if he could simply ROTATE the floor Vertical and he said no I told you once it’s down it’s down. I’m sorry but if spending 20-30min tops to rotate an item for a once in a lifetime event even when offering to pay is so difficult, you’re in the wrong business of events. Even at that I still was not going to leave a review since my wedding and honeymoon was a priority. Today I received a text from the delivery person that nothing was taken down for them to make it convenient to load back up into the trailer and that he “specifically told me once the dance floor is down it cannot be moved” See my part 2.
Had a SUPER great interaction with these great folks. Needed some chairs for a party - TONIGHT - and they couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Especially after I changed my mind and needed a different product!! People always want to talk about supporting local businesses- well THIS is the one to support. They have just about anything you could ask for, their prices are entirely reasonable, and the service is positively second to none. They will be my very first choice for any party needs, and should be yours too.
