In addition to the overall positive experience below, I recommend Roman Rieznikov for massage therapy and personal training. He is easily the best massage therapist I’ve ever had. His massages heal. You will relax, but your body will be better aligned after a massage with him. I understand that he has physical therapy training as well, so he really understands what needs to be done for healing. From a personal training perspective, he has taught me exercises that I have not seen before and has really changed my philosophy on fitness from aesthetics to functionality and health. I would recommend Roman to anyone wanting to feel physically better day to day. I’ve also have had a very positive experience with Align generally. I originally found Align because I was looking for a different physical therapy approach for recovering from what was my second microdiscectomy. Amanda recognized that I needed a multi-faceted treatment plan that involved Pilates and chiropractic work with Catherine and personal training and massage with Roman. Catherine and Roman worked together to get me through the initial stages of my recovery, and I continued to get stronger post-surgery with training and massage from Roman. Align’s approach was very different than what I had used for my first surgery, and I think it has put me on a better path forward. Roman’s training and massage are unconventional in a good way. He trains functional strength, with a focus on stretching, foam rolling, calisthenics, and kettlebell work. And, after every massage treatment, I feel better for days compared to how I presented. Overall, I am hoping to need Align less and less going forward, but when I have issues that can be corrected with physical therapy, they will be my first choice.
