Dr. Heather is the best! It is abundantly clear that she cares about each of her patients and goes above and beyond to ensure they receive exceptional, personalized care. I met her at a time when I was experiencing a lot of health issues, and she listened to me and gave helpful suggestions for next steps. I am so thankful to have had her help!
I was diagnosed with a pelvic floor prolapse in October of 2023. I had some pressure in my vaginal area and problems going to the bathroom and leakage. My mother had this problem and she had surgery twice for this. My NP said I had 3 options. I could use a pessary device. I could have surgery. Or, I could try pelvic floor Physical Therapy. I work with another nurse that went through PT for this problem. She said it has helped her empty urine and stool better. The NP put a referral into a physical therapy place, but they are so limited in physical therapists that are trained in pelvic floor therapy. It is now almost a year since that NP visit and I still haven’t heard from that place! Earlier this summer, Dr. Heather Swain came walking past my house with her dog Kona. My husband was outside and got to talk to her and found out what she did for a living. Luckily, I was home and my husband called me out to talk to her. She described to me what she did and what the cost would be. Her cost was very reasonable. Over a month later I went to see her. Heather was very professional and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable. She assessed me and taught me how to do the pelvic floor exercises to strengthen the pelvic muscles. I am now doing that on my own and I can tell a difference. I no longer feel pressure and I also feel like I am able to empty my bladder better. I have less leakage. I am very happy with her services. I am glad that I didn’t just jump to have surgery. I hope more therapists want to go into this field of pelvic floor therapy.
It is with utmost gratefulness and a lot of appreciation that I write this review. I recall when Heather first came out to see me because I needed PT due to some Right Back Side Discomfort or Pain. she's not only caring, passionate about what she does, quite knowledgeable about her job and anatomy and physiology, but she is super patient too! I am grateful for all she has helped me learn with regards to proper body mechanics as well as aligning my spine or body while engaging my inner core. Should anybody need PT, I highly recommend her, you won't regret receiving her professional care! Should the need of her services arise from me or my family, I will without doubt contact her office in a heartbeat!! Sincerely, James L.
Heather’s individual attention and true understanding of what I’ve got going on and what I need is really amazing. I spent 2 years going to the PT my insurance covered and had really stopped making progress because they didn’t truly understand my individual body. I now only see her once a month and I am making more progress than I had in the last 9 months. And, even more amazing, my husband was convinced to get treatment and has found relief from pain he’s had for years. I highly recommend Ally PT for anyone, but especially someone who feels they need something more than they can get from typical physical therapy places.
Its so rare to have a phone call with a medical professional and then walk away from that phone call thinking "wow...that was a really good conversation!" But that was my first experience with Heather at Ally Total Physical Therapy, and every interaction with her thus far has only gone to improve on that initial impression. Heather has been working with my wife for several months and she has been absolutely wonderful through and through. My wife has been bedbound for several years due to a combination of POTS, hEDS, MCAD, fibromyalgia, and more. Heather is incredibly knowledgeable about these conditions and has a good grasp on how to do what she needs to do while also being mindful of her patients' symptoms. One big thing to mention is that my wife's conditions make her incredibly sensitive to smells - which has always made doctor's visits a bit of concern because more people = more smells (due to things like perfume, cologne, scented detergent, etc.). Heather has always been incredibly mindful of this and strives (in general, not just with us) to be scent free at her visits. Heathers dedication to her patients is evident in her compassion, thoroughness, and willingness to meet her patients where they are (both in a metaphorical sense and a literal one since she makes home visits). I cannot recommend Ally Total Physical Therapy enough!
