I enrolled my dog, Moose, in the American Canine Academy about a year ago in their off-leash program, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Moose has learned to sit, stay, heel, and respond reliably off leash. He’s much calmer now and understands all my commands — even when we travel out of state. One of the things I appreciate most is their lifetime training services. I’ve used this option twice, and it’s been incredibly helpful — Moose received additional training each time at no extra cost. They also offer a group class every Saturday at 10 AM, which is fun, free, and a great way for Moose to socialize while reinforcing his training. The staff at American Canine Academy are friendly, respectful, and always welcoming — they greet you with smiles and make both you and your dog feel at home. Whenever anything comes up with Moose, whether by text or phone call, they respond quickly and provide helpful guidance. Their daycare services are excellent as well; I left Moose for three days and had complete peace of mind knowing he was well cared for. I also take advantage of their grooming and nail trimming services once a month, which Moose enjoys. Overall, I highly recommend American Canine Academy. Their comprehensive training programs, lifetime support, group classes, grooming, daycare, outstanding responsiveness, and exceptional hospitality make it an outstanding place for any dog owner.

Through ACA, I discovered that an old dog can indeed learn new tricks. Oats, my mutt, is 8 years old and did the month long board and train through ACA. Melanie and the entire team kept me updated on his progress, with videos and individualized notes. He needed to work on leash reactivity and distractions, and has improved so much with listening to commands and responding to both corrections and e-collar. Melanie is an incredibly impressive trainer and truly is able to speak the language that my dog needed. We have only had him back for one day, but I’m noticing a big difference. Now, it will be on me to continue daily training and corrections, speaking this new language and building trust with my dog. It will be a lot of work to maintain, but will make a world of difference for us. I can now expose Oats to so many scenarios that I wasn’t able to before. One of the most special things about how ACA has trained Oats is to reward with positivity and love. They paid close attention to Oats’s triggers, working with him on specific scenarios, like a rock climbing crag setting, but showered him in love when he did something right. It made us feel very seen. This will be a lifelong journey to continue his training, but ACA got us started perfectly. You do not need to look elsewhere for a board and train. ACA is worth every cent.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We brought our 9-month-old Yorkie pup, Tippi, to American Canine Academy for the four-week board and train, and wow — she came home a completely different dog! She listens, follows commands, and is so much calmer and more confident. You definitely have to keep up with the training at home, but it’s 100% worth it. The staff and trainers are amazing — super knowledgeable and clearly love what they do — and the facility itself is awesome. Couldn’t recommend them more! 🐾

Bruce recently lodged with American Canine Academy for 5 nights and had a great time! He’s a shy fella and the entire staff made him feel at ease 🙂 He also trained with them a few months back and they did a great job! The lessons were customized to help him be his best version, highly recommend ACA!!!

Truly the place to be if you want to see a change for the better in your pup. Our 3 year old pittie was almost impossible to take on walks, would jump like crazy on visitors to the house, bark and lunge at any unknown person or animal from afar, and was generally just very anxious and unsettled when facing new circumstances. Upon his return after two weeks at The Academy, he is visibly more confident, more obedient, and less reactionary. The trainers make it no secret that we must continue his training at home forevermore, as he will push boundaries and break them if we let him. He is a bully breed after all. But we can now see a future in which we can enjoy having our pup with us when we go out into the world, knowing that we are building trust and confidence both ways at every turn. American Canine Academy is professional and honest. They employ talented and skilled trainers. And their team is genuine in their desire to give freedom back to dogs and their families. 100% worth the cost, as the results are absolutely priceless.
