Great service and honest advice! I took my car in with a flat thinking I'd need a whole new set of snow tires ($1000+). They recommended just patching the flat, said the rest of the tires were in great shape and kept the car overnight just to be sure. Didn't even end up charging me because they couldn't find a leak. They could have easily just done what I asked and made a buck, really appreciate that level of care.

They need to advertise more that they WILL NOT install NEW tires unless they were purchased here. But they WILL install USED tires purchased elsewhere. I had no idea when I waited for over an hour before they opened, sat in the waiting room to later get called up and questioned where my winter tires were purchased? He didn't even let me explain the situation I was in, just told me it was a slap in the face to come here.. I called Alaska Tire Service and they had no problem helping me and got me in super quick the same morning.

Kevin has been amazing to work with. He is super responsive and provided quick quotes and service. Even if you live on the Peninsula, they will get you what you need with very reasonable shipping options. GREAT customer service!

I tried to tell my girlfriend that she would need new winter tires because the ones we purchased last season were worn out. Missing studs does not mean they are worn out! Usable tread depth is the main indicator of a tire's lifespan, as well as age and dry rot, among other details outside the scope of this incident. Needless to say, after hearing this conversation on speakerphone, I had a few choice words about the life of the tires. I was called back shortly after and told that they were all good, just missing the aforementioned studs, and were being mounted on the provided rims and vehicle. A simple disclaimer to all: if you are unaware, know what you have and don't be sold on something new just because you are uneducated. If you don't know, ask a trustworthy friend or family member to help you speak with sales reps in every department, especially this one.

American Tire & Auto was amazing! They were able to get me in right away when I called inquiring about getting a new set of tires, scheduling some time for me that same night. They were very accommodating when I got held up at work and couldn’t make it til the next morning. They got the tires on my truck super quick and efficiently, giving me just enough time to get lunch and swing back by. The Cooper tires they sold me are beautiful, brand new, and perfect for all seasons here in Alaska. The pricing was great and Brandon helped me out with a rebate that the tire manufacturer had going on so I was even able to get $100 off! Highly recommend this place! Thanks for the wonderful service guys.
