Mixed thoughts. This review is specifically for repairs and work done on existing jewelry. I have to say first that the shop is lovely, the staff are great. We've bought items here before and thought they were of high quality, and they've lasted for years. It's the first place I thought of when I needed a repair done, which was probably my mistake. To start with, they didn't weigh the item I brought in, which for a gold piece is extremely strange and immediately had me curious. Then they appraised the item at about $1.2k higher than it's actual worth. I went with it to see what the repair would come to. They had to send the piece off site to have it done, which was also a little strange given how simple the repair was, but okay. The price they quoted ended up being about the value of the entire item if it was bought new today. That said, the repair work was prompt (for being sent off site) and high quality. Again, I've always loved this shop so I'm divided on whether it was a racket or a mistake on their part. I'm glad I went through the process once to see what it would be like, but I definitely won't be doing it again. And if I'm honest, we probably won't be buying anything else after that. It left a bad taste. Check it out if you're buying an original piece because they have some really cool stuff--but double check them on quotes and definitely don't use them for repairs. Solid service and product otherwise. If you're on a budget, it's a no all around.
This is a place that is truly exactly as its name implies, a rarity. They are so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The jewelry is beautiful and they have done exquisite work for to very happy brides who sent me them to get my mother’s 80 year old ring fixed.
Arareity Jewlers is a jewelry and art glass gallery located in the Arthouse on R Street. First founded in 1974 they have been in business for over 49 years providing Sacramento with beautiful one-of-a-kind, hand-made jewelry and glass with much of their selection sourced from local artists. The staff at Araeity were pleasant and helpful, providing patrons with a personalized experience once you step into their store. I browsed their shelves admiring the beautiful hand-crafted jewelry and a pair of intricate wire earrings from Peter James Jewelers based in San Rafael, CA. I was immediately drawn to the design that reminded me of infinity symbols, bows, and cascading waterfalls, and decided to purchase the pair of earrings as a little gift to myself. During checkout the staff members made sure to personalize the experience and asked if I had a favorite color - when I replied with blue, she carefully selected a light blue gift box and carefully nestled my new earrings in there. If you're looking to support a local Sacramento jeweler, then I recommend taking a look at the variety of jewelry and services offered by Arariety Jewelers.
Everything about this beautiful little store deserves more than 5 stars. From the selections to the service! These ladies today were so lovely! My boyfriend got me the most stunning sapphire necklace and unfortunately the clasp broke. I couldn't have picked a better shop to reach out to. Megan and Julia were so kind and helpful. Everyone was so determined to get this necklace back around my neck. They did everything possible to get me in and out of the store, and they did just that. These women were so knowledgeable of the stones, the conversation was wonderful. I certainly recommend this business to anyone looking by for unique and beautiful pieces that are wonderfully priced. Thank you so much for your help today. My trip to Sacramento was beautiful and you made it that much better
Years ago a couple of friends had their wedding rings designed and fabricated here. My friends couldn't say enough about this place & their rings. I stored that memory away for my future nuptials. The day came and I forgot about these guys. I went to at least 5 different jewelry stores and jewelers, feeling like I exhausted options, when I did a Google search and found Arareity again! What a relief to have found them! Carol (lead jeweler & designer) has outstanding customer service. She helped both my husband and I design our rings based on symbolism that has great meaning to us, and at a reasonable price. We're both extremely happy with the results & love our wedding rings. I highly recommend this place for it's unparalleled customer service, selection of jewelry, location, and the overall great experience.
