We've tried 4 different pastries, my top choice was plain croissant, it was sooooo tasty! Highly recommended it to try. Also the apricot monkey bread was delicious too! The atmosphere was okay! The price was reasonable for croissants! Have fun! :)
I have been to all three locations of Arsicault, and here are my takeaways about this one: 1. More items on the menu as compared to the other locations. 2. Not sure if this is actually true, but I liked the croissants better from this location. 3. No free parking around, but UCSF garage nearby has $10 per day parking on Sundays. 4. Wait time when I visited (on a Sunday) was around 30-40mins. 5. There is seating inside.
I wanted to answer one, and one thing only when I went here - is this the best croissant in all of San Francisco Bay Area? Well, in my humble opinion, the answer is yes. I went very close to the closing time and there were only a bunch of items left, but I was able to snag a butter croissant. That is originally what I came for. I sat outside in a tiny table in the glorious SF sun and unpacked my treasure. It was sooo flaky and so unbelievably buttery. It left a mess everywhere as I was trying to eat it, but it was so worth it. Will definitely be back again.
Had my doubts but so many friends rec’d this place and it did not disappoint! One of my fave pastry spots in SF - I actually liked the berry-filled croissant and ham/cheese croissant more than the kouign amann/veg galette which was a surprise. Maybe because they were warm? Cute seating outside and no wait when we went on a weekday around 11am. Will definitely be back :)
Literally when you walk in you will get a whiff of that bakery aroma (the smell of bread and sweet goodness). I love all the pastries but my favorite ones are the almond croissant, plain, and the chocolate. I also like their morning bun. My absolute favorite is Kouign Aman!!! But they also have savory on the menu like ham and cheese croissants and quiches. If you want a certain item come first thing in the morning because they run out of stuff. There is dining on the inside and outside if you want to sit, chat, and have coffee. The place is nice and clean but it can look better. But it doesn’t stop me from coming in to get my croissants:). The lines can get long but it moves fast. So you must decide what you want. The price is standard (meaning not too cheap not expensive). But it’s affordable and very good.
