Art Work Art School is a wonderfully inclusive environment that has not only nurtured my daughter’s painting skills but has also provided a safe and supportive space for her to learn and grow. As the parent of a daughter with special needs, it has often been challenging to find a place that embraces all abilities and recognizes the passion and talent within her. My daughter looks forward to her weekly classes, and it has been incredible to watch her technique develop, along with her self-confidence. Finding meaningful programming for adults with autism is no easy feat, and I’m deeply grateful to have found Art Work Art School. The staff truly take an interest in each artist’s individual development and foster an atmosphere of creativity, learning, and joy.
Our daughter loves Art Works Art School! She is 4 years old and has been loving the weekend class so much we also signed up for summer camps.
I just finished an Adult watercolour class at Art Works Art School. It was my first watercolour course and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The instructor was very good and I learned a lot. My only complaint was that the classes seemed too short -- I was never ready to stop painting!! I just wanted it to go on and on...
Our daughter (4.5 years old) took part in the Sprouts spring programming in 2022 and it was consistently the highlight of her week. In fact, we typically had to do a countdown of sleeps until the next class. The instructor, Yusra, was kind and patient and was even willing to tailor one class projects so that our daughter could gift one of her works of art. The project that stands out the most is the self-portrait painting - the one our daughter completed is now proudly framed and hung in our living room. We are looking forward to many years of programming at Art Works Art School for both our children.
My daughter with special needs (Autism and Epilepsy) has been enrolled in several classes (Acrylic Painting and Private Art Classes) with Art Work Art School; and I have nothing but positive feedback to give. Joanna and her staff have created a calm environment that’s conducive to allowing the artist to create and explore. All of the teachers have taken the time to connect with my daughter, adapted their communication style to ensure she is understanding the lesson, learning new techniques and built on her talents. The programing and methods of teaching at Art Work Art School keeps my daughter engaged and she looks forward to attending every week. I can’t recommend this studio enough! Thank you for creating a space that’s inclusive and accepting for everyone!
