My wife and I have been going to AM for a couple of yrs on the mainland and 6 yrs here in Hawaii. Christian and Lydia have been our instructors and both are solid teachers and make lessons fun! There’s always something new to learn or a technique to improve. The new ownership is great and have given us a few pointers to supplement our lessons. Group classes are fun as we all are refreshed in the basic steps of a variety of dances but there’s always a new move to master. For us on the autumn side of life, dancing keeps you active (if you also practice at home) and reinforces good balance. My wife and I found an activity that we can enjoy together and for me, dancing has built more confidence in social situations but also to explore or “invent” different routines!

Aloha, My name is Christina and I can’t say enough wonderful things about Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Honolulu. I’ve always wanted to learn ballroom dancing. Opening the studio downtown was a dream come true for me because it’s so close to me! From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt the energy and passion for dance that permeates this incredible space. It's not just a studio; it’s a thriving community where joy, creativity, and the desire to learn and grow through movement comes alive. It’s truly inspiring to witness classmates on their dancing journeys, cheering one another on. For myself, I really enjoy is the spectrum of opportunity style wise. Playing around or learning how to groove with showing up: sophisticated, smooth, graceful, poised and Lyrical and how other dances allow the opening of bold, captivating, electric, passionate, vibrant, upbeat, and other energies. I am learning how to follow well. The following struggle is real for me, however; I’m happy with the progress I have made! As a community, the vibrant environment keeps the passion, joy, and reverence for dance alive. As someone who enjoys being around individuals of all ages, I appreciate how everyone is honored and respected at the Studio in the ways everyone should be. It's a quality space for everyone to shine. I really love that about the studio and the people in it. The owners, Jeff Ghramm, Mario, and Vanessa Ornelas, collectively bring around 70 years of dance experience, their wisdom and knowledge is fascinating to be around. It’s impressive to learn from and witness their expertise. Among the exceptional instructors, daily standout figures for me: Christian and Lydia have been especially influential. I deeply admire and appreciate all five instructors in downtown Honolulu, it is such that: Christian and Lydia are the two with whom I have spent the most time, and they have been instrumental in uplifting and witnessing my progress from the start. What truly sets Arthur Murray Dance Studio apart is the extraordinary individuals who populate this space. The camaraderie and genuine connections among students create a heartfelt atmosphere. It’s a place where friendships blossom and lasting memories are made, far beyond just dancing. This vibrant community encourages and supports one another, making every lesson about personal growth and joy as much as it is about mastering dance techniques. Great People -Great Vibes-Great learning. One of my happy places. SO grateful

“Shall We Dance?” Growing up watching Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly dancing in movies was always special to me. I was amazed how they glided across the silver screen alone or with a partner. Every dance movement or gesture a pure work of art. It was like watching a great artist creating a master piece before your eyes. When I walked up the flight of stairs to the Honolulu Arthur Murray Studio, I had no delusion of becoming a great dancer. I knew I would be limited by my age and natural ability. All I wanted was to create my own magic for myself and develop a sense of accomplishment in learning something that had brought such joy in my earlier years. Learning to dance with the great professional Arthur Murray instructors has helped me express myself in a unique and wonderful way. The patience and the love from the Arthur Murray dance professionals embody their love and respect of their profession. This in turn inspires all of its students to get better. And the support and friendship you share with your fellow student dancers is wonderful. I would be remiss if I failed to compliment the owners of the Honolulu Arthur Murray studio. They are also great dancers and have created a nurturing place for its students and instructors. I have gained confidence in knowing I can go to any event where dancing is involved and not be afraid to step onto the dance floor and dance. I might not be the best dancer but it does not matter. Jeff G. is an amazing dance instructor. I have taken lessons from him for several years, and he can teach at any level from beginner to very advanced. I always have questions, some extremely picky and detailed, and he always has full answers with context and related dance principles, without fail. He seems to be able to teach ""by feel", "by visual", or "by explanation" (my personal favorite ;-) ). My wife and I have learned so much from him!

I joined Arthur Murray Federal Murray 15 months ago. Walking through the doors that day was a life changing day. The staff and everyone associated with my studio and Arthur Murray brings everything positive. The professionalism and quality of dance instructors are second to none.
