I started taking classes here as an adult who had been missing my high school dance days back in 2017. 8 years later, and this place is my second home. From my first class, each instructor I have met and worked with has been warm and welcoming. The variety of adult classes offered is one of a kind, with a huge focus on growth and a community built around a shared love for dance. Even within the student community, there is everything offered from recreational classes to competition, and so many performance opportunities abound for anyone. I could go on and on about my love for Artisan. This studio, its owner Jessica, and the instructors are all absolute gems.
After several years away from dance, I joined this studio as a way to ease back into it — and it quickly became so much more than that. What began as a casual return to dance has turned into a meaningful part of my self-care routine and a wonderful way to connect with new friends. The instructors are exceptional, many of whom are active members with BalletMet, bringing both expertise and artistry to every class. The owner fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment, creating a true sense of community within the studio. Whether you’re rediscovering your passion for dance or exploring it for the first time, this studio offers high-quality instruction in an atmosphere that is both encouraging and inspiring. I highly recommend it!
I have taken adult dance classes at Artisan Dance Studio for almost 8 years and I cannot recommend this place enough! This is a supportive, welcoming, and positive environment for dancers of all ages and levels. The teachers are passionate and very knowledgeable about dance. I look forward to taking class here every week—this is my safe space and I could not ask for a better place to dance. This studio is a true gem and we are lucky to have to have it here in Columbus!
I took my two first classes today, and had a great experience. Abby is very passionate about dance, supportive and inspiring to her students. The class was well planned, with easy instruction for the students. I am looking forward to my next class, and strongly recommend the studio to all who loves dance.
I am taking adult ballet classes. Overall, I like the place and the teachers. Wednesdays advanced beginner classes at 6:30 pm are now more of an intermediate into advanced classes, and there are a lot of students that are definitely at a higher level than beginners. Corrections are very generalized, combinations (at the barre, but mostly on center work) are explained quickly, just like in a more advanced class. Some of the less experienced students are no longer taking this class. If you are someone who is coming from beginner classes, or are coming back to ballet after a very long pause, this class may be very difficult for you. This is the only reason I am giving 3 stars.
