The Artists Shed located at 88 Wollongong Street in Fyshwick is my happy place. The resident Artist and owner, Margaret Hadfield regularly runs a 4 week beginner class to enable wishful artists the opportunity to try various different painting mediums and to learn the basics including perspective and observation. Following on from the Introductory classes you can join one of the weekly classes. Each week Margaret guides her budding artists through a variety of art mediums as they learn to paint various landscapes, flora and fauna and even portraiture. Once an artist is ready to progress to the next level they are offered the opportunity by Margaret to join one of her Mentoring groups. The Artists Shed is comprised of an Art Gallery with many beautiful works of art for sale in addition to the painting studio and a well equiped art store that caters to local and interstate artists. Whether you are interested in viewing art or becoming an artist, the Artists Shed is a great place to visit. It’s open every day but Monday so if you’re in Fyshwick call in for a visit.

Art classes are fantastic. Regardless of skill level, Margaret assists you into producing something beautiful every time. Class sizes are perfect, they’re not too big and materials are included! I highly recommend these classes to anyone who is interested or intrigued into the world of painting.

Art classes, art supplies and some beautiful paintings by the proprietor...who, by the way, is a lovely person. I asked many questions which she answered knowingly, simply, and with a beautiful smile. I think it would be a great place to take a few classes.

This is good place to enjoy live music along with food and drink. It was also good to visit the Margaret Hadfield Gallery and talk to the artist. We will definitely visit again when we have an opportunity.
