This was my first visit, the ambiance is nice. They offer smoothies with your service. For pedicures I like Lee and for manicures 💅🏾 Tee (but I'm sure everyone is very talented). They did a great job and I will definitely return!
This was my third time going to Ava nails as I am new to Charlotte. The atmosphere is pleasant and every one is friendly, however when sitting down with my nail tech, I indicated I wanted a fill and cut down and because I had a design on my name I notified her that I wanted pink/white acrylic, of course Im not new to getting my nails down and every shop pretty much eyeballs the length you chose and then gives you a price, so I specifically asked how much would this be, was told my price for my nails would be $80.00 (she even asked the nail tech next to her), everything goes smoothly, I point out to her the pink/white did not blend on a few nails and she said she would get it together next time, which was fine with me, but when i go to check out my price jumped from 80 to $95.00 and when I go to dispute her and she did not mention the amount she gave to me did not include pink/white, how did it not when I specifically asked for this service when sitting down. After going back and forth, I became to aggravated when they began talking in their native language intensely as if I'm not standing right there and can not understand anything they are saying. I was overcharged, but paid what they asked, and just simply left the establishment with no plans on returning. I can understand talking in your native language, but when you are specifically talking about a client, right in their face-about them, please use English (to the best of your ability) so that all parties involved can understand.
I have always known one of your techs to be a skilled technician, and I want to acknowledge that first. However, my most recent experience was very difficult. Right before the tech started working on my toe, we had been talking about a past situation where I was harmed by another technician who did not listen when I said something hurt. Because of that history, I am very cautious. During this visit, I let this tech know that what was being done was painful. Despite saying that, the tech continued, and my toe ended up bleeding. The inside corner of my nail was cut, even after I explained that this exact thing once caused an infection that required a month of antibiotics. It was not ingrown; it was my toenail. The physical pain was one part of it, but the emotional impact was even deeper because I had just shared my past experience and my concerns. It felt as though my warning and pain were not taken seriously, and that was very upsetting for me. The tech did tend to the injury afterwards by putting on hydrogen peroxide and some sort of cream that kind of stopped the bleeding and also put Neosporin on it several times. The tech was apologetic yet continued to justify his decision. I am writing this review with care. I believe this tech is talented and caring, but listening when a client expresses pain or fear is essential. This experience touched a deeper nerve for me, and because of that, I will not be returning to you after 3 years of loyal patronage. In the three decades of receiving nail services, I’ve learned that once blood is drawn, don’t go back. I hope this feedback helps create greater awareness for how important it is to pause and honor a client’s comfort and boundaries during a service.
i just left this place. the ambiance was nice and the guy who did my toes was nice as well. The problem is my friend and i both got the golden mystique pedicures. We believe to have a discount through text and we told the guy who was checking us out and he proceeded to shout in the middle of the salon to the “owner” who then proceeded to give attitude saying the don’t do discounts. Not giving discounts is fine but the uncalled for attitude was not. We were nothing but nice. and we’re not met with the same standards. The pedicure prices on the book was 65$ . I was charged 85$ for one and all he got was a gel pink. I got charged 95 for the same pedicure with hell and i got french tip. I’m trying to understand how there was an extra 50$ in charges . I then left with lotion in between my toes, polish on the side of my toes and wax on the sides of my feet. This place will not get my business again.
Kathy does my nails and she always does them so well. I get compliments each time! Last me weeks before I have to even go back. Pedi chairs are great. Favorite part is the mango slushie of course. ;P
