My dad used Averys for years. He had a subscription plan and a good rapport with the person who called him and took orders, we all enjoyed good wine. When he passed, we stopped payments and my mum took several calls asking what to do with the credit on the account which was enough to buy a last nice box of french reds. Averys weren't unpleasant about this but were inflexible and could only refund the credit, suggesting I used it to start a new account. It's this kind of corporate inflexibility that does not inspire repeat business and to try to open a new account with someone trying to close their late father's account, I felt was particularly insensitive.
