We rescued our deaf girl Lucy two months ago and needed help with indoor/outdoor skills and getting her attention without sounds. John happily took on this challenge and after three sessions there was a night and day difference in her skills and attentiveness. We were so happy that John took on this challenge as no other trainers wanted to take on training a deaf dog. We chose him based off the reviews of others and we wholeheartedly agree that John is amazing at what he does and has a real skill for training all dogs, hearing and deaf! We will be recommending him to anyone in need of a dog trainer!

My wife and I had been looking for dog training for our little dog Charlie. Other at home trainers were going to use an e-collar but we didn’t feel good about it. We found Balanced Pooches and thought we would give it a try. John trains you, the owner, how to effectively use positive reinforcement, and leadership training to get your dog to listen and be your friend. It’s a very personable experience. He gives you the tools you need to continue training your dog after the sessions are finished. He’s also much cheaper than a lot of alternatives but still provides a quality service. We have seen many positive improvements in Charlie. I wish we had started with John earlier!

We became new puppy parents again after about 17 years and really needed help figuring out how to make little Gene a proper gentleman. We decided in home training would be best for our schedules and based on the great reviews chose Balanced Pooches. What a great decision it turned out to be. John was in a word fantastic. We had a fast approaching trip and he was able to accommodate our schedule and help us get Gene confident and ready for the adventure. John was always right on time and respectful and he taught us the importance of being leaders for or dog. Our Gene is still a puppy and has more work to do but from day 1 we already saw huge improvements. Like anything worth having in life, training takes consistency but John teaches you how to make it fun and easy! I highly recommend Balanced Pooches!

John trained our 10-month old pug puppy Coco. We have seen a huge improvement in Coco’s behavior and listening skills since we started the program only 21-days ago. Coco went from a puppy who didn’t respect or listen to anyone, to a puppy who behaves like a dog that has been trained properly since day 1. I highly recommend hiring John as your dog trainer. Thank you John!

John is the best!! We'd looked for weeks trying to find the right training for our puppy, but every program was wildly expensive and many used shock collars or other forms of negative feedback. Our puppy was extraordinarily anxious and would nip and growl at almost anyone she saw-- including people who lived with us-- so we knew that type of training would do more harm than good for her. Thankfully we found Balanced Pooches and within a week she had her first lesson, within two weeks she was attentive and clearly calmer, and by the third week she was a completely different dog and far more well behaved than I had ever imagined a puppy could be! John's fun, engaging training techniques made the whole experience a breeze and I'm now using the same routine to train my old dog new tricks (and better manners). I wholeheartedly recommend John to anyone and am so grateful we found him!
