Eric is an awesome barber. He takes his time cutting my hair and is always warm and welcoming right until I’m walking out the door. Would recommend this shop to Jersey City locals for a great cut!

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with my recent haircut. The result was completely different from what we discussed, the hair was cut much shorter than agreed, the shape is uneven and very difficult to style. I attached a photo to show the result: one side is noticeably longer than the other, the front is cut far too short while the back is left too long, and there is no proper transition in the neck area it looks as if it was simply clipped with a machine. I expected a professional, balanced haircut, but the result looks messy and poorly executed. Even after several days and different styling attempts, it still looks uneven and unflattering. Overall, this experience did not meet the professional standard I would expect from a salon at this price level. Sadly, I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

Honestly I kind of wanted to dislike this barber. The price is quite high. But I finally broke down and booked an appointment there last weekend, paying $60 after tip…. And it was the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life. Cynthia cut my hair and I cannot believe how good it looks. I wish the cost was a bit lower, but I’m sold. You get what you pay for, and you get a LOT with Balkan Barber. Highly recommend, it’s absolutely worth the price.

This review’s about Eric. Amazing Fades. Been clipping my hair with him three times now and they always turn out great. The team is invested in seeing this awesome guy succeed as a barber, and will cycle in to give tips or demonstrate every now and then. The cuts take a little longer, but I guarantee you they come out looking amazing. Over time with more opportunities and practice, these things will naturally speed up. Eric puts his love in his work. He is friendly and full of aspirational vigour. I don’t usually talk during haircuts, but I do enjoy talking to the guy. Give Eric a shot, he won’t disappoint. Save yourself the trouble looking. Balkan Barbers is the real deal. The team is great and are extremely professional. 11/04/22 update Eric‘s on a Roll - 60 minute skin fade. (Last two pics) I receive compliments at work after his cuts.
