The massage itself was incredible — a perfect balance of deep pressure, stretching, and relaxation. I could feel the tension melting away, especially in my back and shoulders. The traditional Thai stretches were done with great care and really improved my flexibility and overall comfort. I would definitely go back again and would recommend other people to give it a try.
I’ve decided I’m done with Bangkok Thai Spa. I’m a regular massage client — I’ve been here around 10–15 times, at least once a month, sometimes twice. I genuinely love massages. But the quality here is wildly inconsistent. Some therapists are great, others are absolutely terrible, and that gap alone is incredibly frustrating. Today, I had a session with a male therapist named Tom, and it was honestly shocking. Usually, when a therapist needs to step on a client’s body or use overhead bars, they ask first. Every therapist I’ve had before always checked with me. This person didn’t ask at all — he just stepped directly onto my body. I was extremely uncomfortable. I do not prefer that technique at all, especially as a female client with a male therapist stepping on me with his full weight. It felt like my neck was being choked, and honestly, it felt unprofessional compared to proper hand techniques. I also don’t like anyone standing on my body with their feet, period. I told him clearly that I was uncomfortable and asked him not to stand on my body. His response was that this was “necessary for deep tissue massage.” I’ve never heard that in my life. Yes, I understand that deep tissue massage uses oil, but this wasn’t massage — it felt like a moisturizing session. He used an excessive amount of oil, pumping oil 3–4 times on the same area and never properly working it in. Before the session, I specifically asked for someone stronger because I’d previously had therapists who were too weak. But this wasn’t skilled strength — it was just someone pressing down with body weight, with zero technique. There wasn’t a single professional skill involved. Another serious issue: male therapists should be extra careful when working with female clients. While he was moving around the table, my hands repeatedly ended up touching his groin area because of how he positioned himself. At one point, he even held my hand down so I couldn’t move it, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. On top of that, the way he worked around my hip and glute area felt completely inappropriate. I felt extremely uncomfortable and disturbed. I believe male therapists working on female clients need to be much more mindful. Full-body relaxation is one thing, but certain areas simply don’t need to be touched that way. I also told him clearly that my neck and shoulders were in pain and asked him to focus only on those areas. When he asked me to turn over, I said I didn’t want to and asked him to continue with neck and shoulder work for the remaining time. He barely rubbed those areas a few times and then forced a massage I never asked for. That completely ruined the experience. This isn’t even an isolated incident. On a previous visit, I had a female therapist who literally kept falling asleep during my session. I’ve been to countless massage places in Thai Town, Koreatown, and nearby areas because I truly love massages. I kept choosing Bangkok Thai Spa mainly because it’s close to my home and the facility is clean. But the customer service here has declined badly. They’ve never once offered water or tea after a session, and they clearly don’t care how often a client comes in. It feels like they only care about tips and getting paid — not professionalism or client comfort. I pay $70 for an hour, $90 for 90 minutes, plus Uber, plus tip — easily over $100 per visit. My time and money are too valuable for this kind of experience. I’ve made my decision. I’m not coming back. Ever.
My wife and I did a couple massages therapy. I had such a great experience here last week! I’ve been to many massages in Los Angeles but here I felt that they were able to isolate and target the issues I had. They were kind and respectful.
As a first time customer from Pasadena I can state that Bangkok Thai Spa is now my go to destination for amazing relaxing messages. The people are very polite creating an incredibly welcoming and respectful atmosphere from the moment one steps through their doors. The deep tissue message I received was nothing short of extraordinary. Bangkok Thai Spa offer a huge array of massage options designed to cater to your individual needs and preferences. Thank you Bangkok Thai Spa for an outstanding experience!
First time here.. I’m from Washington and visit LA twice or three times a year. It’s my new favorite spot for Thai massage.. I have a tight and stiff body and my massage therapist worked really effective on my body and I felt really really good ..I felt my body is lighter and just feel good about my body after just one massage. I choose light to medium strength this time though. Recommend this place 👍👍👍
