We had to bring our 8 yr dog Kainda in on a Saturday night for a ruptured mass as new patients to the clinic. It was an troubling situation for us but she was seen quickly by a wonderful veterinarian who was very caring and thoroughly discussed treatment options to us. Today (4 days later) Kainda had the surgery to remove the mass and was also spayed. The care from the staff during the whole process was great and I especially want to thank Brittney, Erica and Dr. Wattson. I really appreciated the sincerity and care given in answering all the questions and concerns I had during our post opp conversation. Thank you Beattie for making the process as positive as possible.
I lost my best friend the other night. 💔My blind deaf dog 17 years old with dementia wouldnt settle and go in his bed to sleep so i knew it was time. He was in constant need these last 8 months as his dementia progressed. The staff was extremely caring during this unfair time. Its never easy to make that decision to let your pet go. They also sent a lovely rainbow 🌈 bridge card to us which was very touching.
On November 21, 2025, my senior Yorkie, Lana, was sent to Beattie Pet Hospital after being injured during a grooming appointment at PetSmart on Stone Church Rd in Hamilton. She was bleeding from her mouth and had an injury near her eye that was clearly caused by the groomer. While the vet did see her, the experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. Despite the injuries being obvious, the staff would not acknowledge or document that the injuries were caused by grooming. Nothing was properly noted on file regarding how she was hurt, which left us without support or accountability. Instead, we were told she had a heart murmur and other issues that were mentioned verbally but never documented. It felt careless and dismissive, especially considering Lana is a senior dog and was already in distress. This clinic showed no compassion or concern for my pet’s well-being. It felt like their priority was money, not helping an injured animal or advocating for her. As a pet owner, I felt unheard and let down during an already traumatic situation. I would never return to Beattie Pet Hospital and would not recommend them to anyone who truly cares about their pet. If I could rate them a 0 I would.
Absolutely amazing. Had to bring my pyr mix in urgently from Welland as NEVH was busy. Staff were so informative, kind and the veterinarian we saw was phenomenal - I'm sorry I can't remember her name right now. This is my special companion and I was so anxious, but the team made this visit easier. Thank you!! Nova is currently resting and the sutures were done beautifully. To me cost is never a question for my babies, I'll make it happen, but for those who may be wondering, over all the cost was less than 1,000. Take home meds, the injection of tramadol, the exam fee, the surgery, cone, literally everything. You hear horror stories about emergency clinics being a bank breaker, but Beattie's really surprised me.
I had to unfortunately put my 18 year old kitty down Wednesday night. I came to Beattie from Niagara Falls. I just wanted to extend my thanks to the clinic for being so wonderful with me as I said my goodbyes to my amazing kitty. It was Dr Mellish I believe that helped him cross over and she was very kind. I appreciate everything and will continue to see them on an emergency basis as needed for my other pets. Prices were very fair at 575 before tax for a end of life consult and then the euthanasia/private cremation where as my local Emerg wanted over $900. Thank you 😊
