I have been going to Beckett Tax for well over a decade now. I used to be self employed and had Dwayne doing my taxes. He was so friendly and I always looked forward to seeing him each year. Now that he has retired, I have been with Tonya and adore her. She is so quick, helps me understand what's going on, and is a delight to see. Everyone should use Beckett Tax!

I am profoundly disappointed with the service we received from Becket Tax for the 2024 tax year and I absolutely would not recommend them. We chose a tax professional because our return involved us living in two states, and we specifically sought convenience and audit protection. The staff assured us our situation wouldn't be a problem, and I trusted the Google reviews—I still can't understand the difference between my experience and other reviewers'. Here is our story. We were assigned an accountant who requested additional time for our complicated return, which we fully understood and agreed to in February 2024. However, when the original estimate passed, I called in mid-March for a status update. The company was busy, and I was repeatedly told someone would call me back "in a week." After multiple unreturned calls, we were in the beginning of April with just one week left to file without an extension. I was finally called by Tylor (the owner), who explained that my original accountant had left the company. He apologized for the miscommunication and completed the return that same day. While our taxes were ultimately filed on time, it was a stressful process that required me to re-explain my entire tax situation. Soon after, I received an audit letter from the state of Wisconsin. I reached back out for the audit protection service and was given a new accountant. This required me to explain my taxes for a third time. Throughout July, the pattern repeated: I would email and call the office, wait a week, and then have to re-establish communication myself. Eventually, Becket sent an appeal letter on my behalf, telling me to reach back out if the state disagreed. In September, the state did disagree, giving me 14 days to provide additional documentation. I called Becket Tax immediately and was told someone would reach out (sound familiar, right?). I also emailed my appeal accountant. I waited two days, tried again, and was simply told my message was forwarded. I was never contacted by an employee of Becket Tax. Had I waited for them, the state would have closed my account, and I would have lost a decent tax return in the process. I ended up having to represent my spouse and myself and resolved the appeal with the state independently. I trusted Becket Tax for three essential things: managing a complicated return, providing convenience, and ensuring audit protection. In every single category, their service was catastrophically unreliable. This entire experience was not only a complete disappointment but a significant and frustrating drain on my personal time and energy. I would not recommend this company.

We have used Beckett Tax for the past 15 years for our tax preparation and they have always performed in a timely and professional manner. I like that we can communicate with each other electronically because it makes for quick and accurate filings and returns, but they are also readily available to talk over the phone for any/all clarifications. Beckett Tax does good work.

Bethany is absolutely amazing at what she does—she’s knowledgeable, efficient, and makes the entire process so easy to understand. On top of that, she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet! We genuinely appreciate her expertise and the kindness she brings to every interaction.
