This was at one point my go-to boarding facility before a deeply troubling and disturbing experience with them. My dog has a documented bite history and serious aggression issues. After extensive training attempts and guidance from professionals, it had sadly been decided that euthanasia would be the safest and most responsible option if he could not be placed in the custody of someone experienced with aggressive dogs by Nov 1st, so he would not hurt anyone or be put in a stressful, unsafe situation. After months of seeking new homes, an employee (Ava) offered to take in my dog, then backed out at the last minute and called my vet pretending to be from his original adoption agency, claiming I did not have the authority to make this decision in an attempt to cancel his euthanasia appointment. I reported this to management. After that, another employee (Payton) attempted to help rehome him by connecting me to her friend Sophie. Sophie claimed to have experience with reactive dogs and offered to take him and provide him proper training. She and the general manager (Aurora) met with me and reviewed his full bite history, watched videos of his aggression, and assured me they could manage him. Based on those assurances, I transferred George to Sophie on Oct 31, with the agreement that she would take ownership, update the microchip, and I would sadly no longer be involved. Twelve days later, I was contacted by the shelter. My dog had been brought in as a “stray” by Payton, and the shelter was told I had “left him at boarding and they could only hold him 3 weeks.” This is entirely false and shows a complete disregard for the responsibility Sophie shares in this devastating situation. I am heartbroken that I left him with this person. Even worse, the shelter was not informed of George’s aggression or bite history, putting him, their staff, and other animals at risk. Instead of allowing me to follow through with a safe, controlled euthanasia as planned, they dropped him at the shelter with no behavioral information, leaving me still responsible for the outcome. I can’t help but fear that they may have even planned for it to happen this way. I had planned to give my beautiful dog one last best day ever before a peaceful euthanasia appointment. That opportunity was stolen from both me and my dog. He spent nearly two weeks in a new environment and was ultimately dumped at the shelter, scared and confused. I was so hopeful that Sophie would be able to give him a better life than I could, but now he is likely going to be put down after spending these last days with someone who betrayed both him and me. The employees of this facility have lied on multiple occasions, interfered with medical decisions, and caused me significant emotional distress. I would not trust this facility or the people they employ with any dog. I pray that one day I can find it in my heart to forgive them.
Our boys love Bed and Biscuit. They’re never sad to go here and always come back smelling fresh and clean. Much better than anywhere else in town. Thank you!!
The crew at Bed & Biscuit are fantastic and my dog loves it. My favorite “extra” is that they send pictures of my pup, routinely, during her stays. That means so much to me and puts my mind at ease. And they don’t charge extra, which, these days, is a big deal.
I’ve been sending my dogs to Bed & Biscuit for the last few years and would give them 6 stars if I could. Both rescued as adults, one is anti-social with other dogs and the other is incredibly anxious.. and I never worry about them for even a second after I drop them off at B&B. I’ve had several traumatic experiences with Rovers and other boarders, but every time I drop them off at Bed & Biscuit they run right through the doors into the back with the staff without thinking twice, and when I pick them up they’re both always perfectly happy. They get to sleep together and when they go out to the yard to play, they get paired up with one other dog that matches their energy. The staff are all so lovely and seem genuinely happy to see my pups whenever I bring them in, and send the cutest pictures of them playing in the yard. The customer service is also fantastic. There have been several times I’ve had to cancel last minute due to illness or travel changes, and they always tell me not to worry about paying the late fee. I live on the east side and I will continue to make the 30+ minute haul to board them at Bed & Biscuit as long as we live in Austin. Could not recommend them enough!!!!! 🫶🏻
Posting a review for anyone looking for somewhere their selective pup can hang with other dogs in small groups. My trainer recommended Bed and Biscuit as my pup is a bit shy with people and definitely not a candidate for the boarders/daycare that have lots and lots of dogs playing at once. B&B does small groups of dogs ~3 at a time for play sessions. They also ask if your dog has any issues with certain breeds (for example, we had a reactive German Shepherd in our neighborhood so I just asked to not play with them in case he associated them with the neighbor dog). Their staff is very friendly and it seems like they take special care with the shy dogs (but also love your excited pups too!). I also love that they are nestled in the hills away from busy traffic sounds. The sleeping quarters aren’t the fanciest, but I think the play time makes up for that and my dog is probably just sleeping most of the time. Lastly, I really love the texts and picture updates. Nice peace of mind and love to see him with some new buddies. Thank you, B&B! We are sadly moving to another state and will be in search of a replacement!
