Bought an old high quality Sherwood HiFi amp at a church sale hoping for a find, but one of the two power channels wasn't working. Brought it to Benson and they managed to source the Sherwood channel power component. It took just over a month but I picked up the amp, connected a Tuner, hooked-up the left & right speakers in stereo mode and the amp sounds great!

Called here because I needed to take a small kitchen appliance to be recycled, but I don't have access to a car so needed somewhere I could bus to since the closest "Take it Back" participant near me only takes non-kitchen electronics; was told by 311 that this place accepts kitchen appliances and to just call ahead to double check. Called and left a message shortly after opening hours and my call was returned promptly. Explained the type of appliance I was returning and was told there is a small fee ($5 for my one item, not sure if there is an additional cost if multiple items and some larger appliances may be more, mine was a small personal sized blender base only). They said if I couldn't come that day to call ahead another day just to double check they'd be open so regardless for the reason of visit, I do recommend calling ahead to confirm they'll be open since it does seem to be staffed by one person. The location is relatively accessible by bus, and I was grateful for this option since the main location for returning items of this sort (Sheffield) is only accessible by car. I was able to pay by etransfer. The person I spoke to over the phone and in person was very professional and courteous with me; there are stairs involved to access the doorbell and enter, however I am guessing that if this was an issue, someone could call ahead and ask them to keep an eye out to meet them outside and still pay via cash or etransfer so the drop-off could be make accessible despite this. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend this place as an option for people looking to return electronics that can't go in the landfill.

I had a 40 year old technics direct drive, linear tracking turntable that recently stopped working. I looked around for a repair facility and finally was able to find someone to repair it. Bensons, the only one able to perform the repairs, and it was repaired in about three weeks, for a reasonable price. I will be recommending and using Bensons in the future.

Took my Mom's TV in to be fixed. The owner was very nice and helpful, he made us feel comfortable. When we dropped it off he told us 3-4 weeks and my Mom got a call on time, 3 weeks later, letting her know it was ready. About 2 weeks after getting the TV home, the problem came back. My Mom doesn't drive and I live about 5 hours away, so now she is stuck again with the TV that doesn't work. I saw in other reviews that the owner wants to know the name of the people who make comments here, I didn't put my Mom's name as I don't want her to get a angry phone call, she is older and that would upset her.
