My daughter takes classes here and every time she comes home she is very tired but she is always so inspired by ballet. She always says her teacher pushes her to her limit. Her flexibility has majorly increased since she started these classes!

Teresa is an incredible teacher. She’s created this combo of rigor & fun—and it’s unlocked a beauty in me I didn’t even know I had!! I am an adult student and she has a significant group of adult students. Many beginner and even professional dancers meet for the beginner and intermediate classes. Even when I moved away from the Bay Area, I still take Blackbox classes online. They’re that good. Teresa and BlackBox is rare: serious ballet taught with joy, curiosity & fun. So grateful I found this studio… my ballet practice grew by leaps and bounds in only a few classes, and she opened up the whole world of it to me. Including taking up pointe again! Yes, you can as an adult with their adult pointe class!!! So good. Highly highly recommend.

Theresa’s incredibly nurturing and masterful teaching is literally changing my life. Within a week of starting ballet again after 35 years, I was dancing on pointe. I have never danced at this level before and I’m in my 50s. Ballet is the right combo of strength, cardio and flexibility, the perfect exercise I need at this time in my life. Theresa is my guide to higher levels of artistic expression, joy and seriously amazing fitness—lost multiple pounds of fat and gained muscle quickly, dancing is so easy and addictive bc of her joy, sparkly fun and authentic, caring encouragement. Pointe is TOTALLY doable for older women, try it!!! It is really rare to find a gifted teacher like this. She is an absolute gift.

Theresa is the best! Such a fabulous mentor for our daughter. She teaches kids real ballet and is so kind, approachable, and fun. The recitals (we've done 3 so far, in our 18 months at the studio) have all been adorable delights with real costumes and choreography. We could not be more thrilled!

Theresa is a wonderful and attentive teacher who is very invested in her students and passionate about dance. My daughter has been taking ballet with Theresa for 1 yr. She loves going to ballet class and I've seen her confidence grow so much. She's making friendships and it's nice for her to be a part of this little art community. I like the small class sizes and the opportunity for kids to do performances.

My daughter has learned so much in her time at Black Box, and we're excited for her to continue to grow as a dancer and athlete. She started at age 4. Ms. Teresa keeps the littles entertained during the class and instills in them a love of movement and dancing. I was impressed with how precise my daughter was when she demonstrated her new skills to me... and learning these skills in such a supportive, calm, inclusive environment makes all the difference!
