Paying $37 a week and getting warned for putting chalk on holds and volumes is absurd. I was marking them as part of a common climbing game, in a bouldering gym. Chalk is normal. Being told it’s “too hard to clean” is not my problem — that’s basic gym maintenance. If you’re charging nearly $40 a week, clean your holds instead of blaming climbers. Completely unreasonable. It’s not the climbers fault for poor gym maintenance. Apart from this, blochaus has been good so far. If you are a frequent climber, I suggest you go to mountain strong. I have found blochaus’ only redeemable quality is their gym equipment.

I’ve noticed for a while that the staff here often seem unmotivated and unfriendly, but today was honestly the last straw. Because of YOUR mistake, I arrived 30 minutes before opening. I had checked the opening times on Wednesday to plan my session and even rearranged work just so I could go bouldering this week. According to Google (at least on wednesday), you open at 6am. When I got there, the staff member told me they actually open 30 minutes later and that the Google hours were wrong. Is it really that hard to keep them updated? I see they’ve been changed now, but that doesn’t help me. I live quite far from the gym and ended up wasting my entire morning. And honestly you couldn’t let me climb for those 30 minutes to compensate for your mistake? Pretty disappointing. Edit: Thank you for your response and for reaching out afterwards. I was positively surprised by how this was handled and I really appreciate the apology and the compensation. That was very kind!

This is the perfect place to have fun rock climbing for all ages. A tough but fulfilling activity.

A really refreshing space. The nice aircon is amazing, and it doesn't feel humid at all compared to Fyshwick. The climbs are definitely tougher and taller than Fyshwick. There is more room around the climbs and they have seats inbetween the climbs so people don't always sit on the pads which is nice. They have a kilter board which is cool and good to challenge yourself on. There is also a parkour area and a table tennis table which is fun. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The entrance to the Blochaus itself was a bit hard to find, since there was no signage but I'm sure they will sort that out soon. I'll definitely go again soon!
