My seven-year-old son, Mateo loved his experience at this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school. Coach John was incredibly patient, friendly, and made every class fun while keeping it structured and focused. We also did a few private lessons, and those were just as great — very accommodating with scheduling and always attentive to Mateo’s needs and pace. It’s clear he genuinely cares about helping kids learn and build confidence, not just teach techniques. Highly recommend this school for anyone looking for a positive and encouraging environment for their child to learn Jiu-Jitsu!

For context, I am new to grappling and coming from a striking background (Muay Thai/Boxing) I have no wrestling or jiu-jitsu background and this is the first gym I chose to train at for this experience. I have trained at Blue Collar grappling for almost 3 months, and my time here has been absolutely wonderful. Coach JT makes sure to go out of his way to pay extra attention to beginners while letting his seasoned students get in good work to progress. He is detailed, principled, and makes learning fun and enriching. I find myself finding new discipline, and embracing the lifestyle of jiu-jitsu thanks to his leadership and guidance. My suggestion is to go beyond the free-trial class and allow yourself to train here for at least 1-3 months before deciding if it’s for you or not. This martial art takes time and consistency. Coach JT will build you up from where you are, and walk with you to where you want to be. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Coach JT is an amazing and talented coach, Knowledgeable and passionate and genuinely invested in Each student’s well being and their journey into becoming a successful Jiu Jitsu student no matter where they come from or their level. He breaks down complex and difficult situations and turns them into a way that’s easy to understand and always believes anybody can succeed. 10/10 amazing Jiu jitsu family and beginner friendly team!

I’ve been taking Jiu Jitsu Classes for two weeks and I have already been so excited about what the future will hold. Blue Collar Grappling is an amazing place for every one of different backgrounds and for every one of different levels. The coaches are absolutely amazing, with their helpfulness and dedication to always support students it’s a welcoming environment. I’ve learned so much in a small amount and I’m excited to keep improving. Highly Recommend!!
