Bluethumb as an online gallery has been good for selling art. However, many buyers may not realise that Bluethumb now takes around 40% commission, and once shipping, insurance and GST are included, the total cost to the artist can approach 50%. After materials, framing and production costs, the return to the artist can be very modest. At this level, the structure begins to feel closer to wholesale for mass produced goods rather than support for independent artists. 🤔

I recently joined Bluethumb as an artist. And I was pleasantly surprised to see my artwork being staff picked the very next morning! Which immediately made me feel, this place is genuine! I am a self taught artist and painting has been my passion since childhood. Bluethumb is a splendid platform showcasing professional artists as well as artists like me. I dont have much time to spend on social media to build up a decent follower base due to other commitments in life. Despite that I am selling okay and I give a huge credit to bluethumb for that. It is absolutely an amazing place for both artists and buyers. The team is a great help whenever needed. Could not recommend more!

Bluethumb is a wonderful gallery and on-line platform that supports Australian artists. For the collector, there is a wide range of artwork available in every style imaginable from abstract to realism. There is also a wide range of prices that accommodates all budgets. I have sold my work through Bluethumb for a number of years and have always been pleased with their professionalism and commitment to Australian artists. Bluethumb is the perfect place for buyers to acquire new pieces for their collection. The only problem is that you are totally spoilt for choice!

As an artist who has been with Bluethumb for a few years now I have to say they are very proactive, have a great online presence and are always there to support both the artist and the collector. It's been a great way for me to grow my audience and I have also really enjoyed my interactions with patrons who have chosen my artworks for their collections.
