Really great bookstore. Perfect location. Parking nearby, pick up your book and grab a coffee from a great cafe near Newcastle waterfront. Buy online, from a huge national stock of new or used books.

I have never had a bad experience with The Book Grocer. I'm not local so haven't been to their physical store, but have ordered 2 book boxes and countless individual books. The secondhand books are always in wonderful condition and half the time look brand new. The customer service is faultless and the shipping is pretty quick. Books are always thoughtfully packaged so they aren't damaged on the way.

What a great book store! The staff are super friendly and helpful, there's a brilliant variety of books and they don't cost a fortune. I was able to find the final 3 books in a Michael Grant series that I had been looking for, unfortunately one of them wasn't on the shelf when I went back for them. Never fear, jump on their website and find your books then they can be sent out to the store free of charge or even sent to your home if you wish. If you thought this store already sounded brilliant, I'll make it better, you can take your dogs in there! I'll definitely be back time and time again 😄

Great bookstore with books at half price or less, as they buy end of run books, though still brand new. Similar to an awesome chain of stores in Texas called Half Price Books which also bought your second hand books. I wish The Book Grocer also did that and was three times the size. Browsing is great fun as you don't know what you'll discover, including some lovely vintage-styled posters. A great bookstore to return to and for anyone who loves the thrill of the chase!
