Following my fractured femoral neck and subsequent surgery I started the normal PT (physical therapy) once per week and that was probably a good start. However, I needed to regain full body strength and wanted to progress faster. I discussed adding a trainer with my PT person and got a big thumds up. I began a virtual strength training class with Breakthrough Fitness over 2 years ago per a friend’s recommendation. I had been doing some intermittent work outs at home previously. I quickly found that working with a trainer upped my game and showed me I was capable of much more than I was doing on my own. A year ago I moved to Oregon. I kept up with a routine that Morgan put together, but after a time was feeling the need for increased challenge. With the help of the fitness app that Breakthrough Fitness employs, video chats and lots of messaging/support, I have continued as an avid client even though I am 1800 miles away. I’ve built a home fitness room with Morgan’s advice. I’ve gotten excellent advice and programming for aerobic exercise as well as strength training. Training with Morgan at Breakthrough is life-changing. I'm updating my review to add that since February when I first started training at Breakthrough, my recurring back pain is gone. I have not experienced back pain in the last 10 months, which is a very welcome change! At Breakthrough they take the time needed to meet clients where we are at. I've worked with other trainers and many classes, and have never experienced this kind of steady progress (without injury!) over time. With Morgan's coaching, I have learned so much about how to manage those not-so-positive "muscle memories" that have been with me for decades and to explore what my body is truly capable of.
