Okay a bit of a story but so terribly disappointed. We have had nothing but excellent outcomes with vet, Scot Plummer, and so didn't hesitate to recommend this clinic to our son, who's mini dachshund needed an operation on one of his rear legs. So he made an appointment, had a consultation and diagnostic x-rays done. He was quoted $6000 and while a bit more expensive that expect and researched,he booked in for the surgery. He returned home and about an hour later received a phone call saying if he could bring Devon straight back it would be $5000, because they have had a cancellation. Unfortunately, that was not possible and so he kept his original appointment. While is was a saving of $1000, he does work and also had to budget for the surgery. If he had known it would have been a saving of nearly $3000, as the bill came to $7977.16, he would have returned and we would have loaned the money to him. Then the day before surgery another phone call, approximately 1:30pm asking whether Devon could be brought in for his surgery as another cancellation, but as he had been fed etc, didn't want to take the risk of complications. Day of surgery and nurse advises that $6000 was a low quote and it could be up to $8000. You can image the shock!!! So, it appears that amazingly a surgery that could been done for $5000, if you took a cancellation, drastically goes up to $8000 when you keep your appointment. I'm wondering if this is because you are covering costs for a "visiting" surgeon and who had bookings cancelled, but he still needs to be paid. I can't express how disappointed I am in this clinic. The "philosophy" on their website is extremely misleading. We will never use this surgery again, which saddens us because we thought we had finally found our forever clinic.
Brisbane Pet Surgery are fantastic. Big thank you to Dr Scot and the team for incredible traetment, service & facilities. We had to take our elderly staffy for removal of a lump & teeth clean. As new visitors to the clinic we were nervous for the old boy but the team are professiional and we felt, comfortable with their skills and knowledge immediately. His Surgery went well and he is home recovering. Highly recommend these guys - also they are incredibly reasonable price wise. Thanks again team BPS
10 days ago I took Dolly my french bulldog in for her BOAS surgery, DR Scott and the entire team were amazing, Dolly suffers from extreme reaction to other dogs and couldn't get worked up before her surgery, the team catered for her every need seperating her from all other animals. The surgery was quick and she has recovered great. Absolutely recommend coming here for BOAS surgery, not only was it very high quality it's also the cheapest in Brisbane by far. Cannot recommend enough, keep up the great work team!!
From booking procedures to picking up my fur babies, the experience was 5 stars. I booked via email with swift replies. Got a reminder email a few days before surgery. This outlined “what to do” clearly. On arrival, greeted and felt very comfortable with pre surgery checks & permissions. Received phone call to talk about pick up. Pick up was an amazing experience. Vet staff who genuinely love animals. One of my fur babies really spread his love, scent and purrs. The girls loved him. I saw many photos taken of him. He is a star.⭐️ plus got a cute going home bag with after treatment care instructions. Unbelievable. What was more amazing was the cost. The quote from another vet would have been a lot more with poorer service. My fur babies will now be coming here. Super impressed. A bit out of the way, but that I can manage. Highly recommend. Lots of purrs from Vinnie & Lilly. xxxx
In January this year my beautiful 11 month old lab, Molly girl was operated on by Dr Chris. I cannot speak more highly of him as a surgeon. His knowledge and expertise calmed my nerves as he was about to do a total hip replacement on her right leg due to hip dysplasia. He gave me every detail about what he was going to do , even explaining how he uses a special technique so the ball doesn't pop out. Waiting for the phone call to let me know she was ok felt like forever. Dr Chris also rang to let me know how the surgery had gone. He made the call while he was still in theatre doing the last of the sutures as he had a flight to catch back to Melbourne. I was pretty impressed. Nearly 7 months on and Molly's leg is fantastic but unfortunately she has also been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia so Dr Chris is going to sort that out on the 16th of July. Then when Molly is ready she will have the left hip replaced. My girl has been through so much already and her journey has not finished. Thank you Dr Chris, you are an incredible human.
